I love Chaco sandals. These didn't seem to have the same high arch. Even with my orthotics in, they weren't as supportive as other boots I have. Alas, I need a boot with a TSS or steel shank. Sadly, I had to return them. But it's my feet, not the boots.
My second pair...first pair lasted me over six years until my son stepped on the back as I was walking and they suffered a catastrophic strap failure! The new pair feels SO comfortable, like an old comfortable pair of shoes. The footbed is what makes this sandal great!
I've been searching for a pair of shoes that I can wear with my orthotics that don't look like "old lady" shoes...no offense to the old ladies out there! It's been really hard finding something that fits, is comfortable, and is actually stylish. This shoe fits the bill. Even my 14 year old daughter likes them! The insoles, which were pretty comfy to begin with, come out easily so I can place my orthotics inside. I find them pretty comfortable and really love that this is a pretty flat shoe. I ordered the black and I'm very happy with them. You can't even tell that I have orthotics in them :) I can't be on my feet for a long time (max 20-30 minutes), so I can't speak to the wearability for lots of walking and such. I did think that after the shoes were on my feet for 6+ hours, they started to feel uncomfortable, but that just may be my bad feet and not the shoes themselves. Would purchase again and would recommend to a friend.
I love these "flips". As soon as I put them on, my feet felt great. I can wear these for hours in almost any situation.
Chaco was launched in 1989 by Mark Paigen. Paigen, a fly fishing and whitewater rafting guide on the Colorado River, began making sport sandals for his fellow guides. Eventually, he started making the unique sandals for clients, and the demand for Chacos continued to grow. In 2008, Chaco was acquired by Wolverine World Wide, Inc.
Chaco sandals incorporate a pull-through strap system that is micro-adjustable for the perfect fit and designed to help keep the foot in place during wear.
All Chaco sandals have BioCentric™ footbeds, which are approved by the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA). These footbeds control pronation, maximize performance and ensure a comfortable, supported stride in any activity.
Today, Chaco shoes (affectionately called "Chacos" by those who wear and love them) continue to heed the call of river guides, climbers and hikers with Chaco multi-sport shoes, sandals and flips. Explore the complete collection of styles, including women's Chaco and men's Chaco.
