Chaco Updraft for Women
Updraft X2 Review:
Chacos are great, but I need a wide to fit my D-width feet and Updraft only comes in Regular width. Unbelievable arch support for ulnar fascittis sufferers, the only sandal with any arch to speak of, and theirs are super high. The wide fits me like a glove and I can wear it all day. However, they make very few colors/styles in the Wide width, too bad, I have a small pool of their many styles and colors to choose from. .
I think I'm between sizes
This day in age, I am most frequently a 7.5 but find that I am all over the board. What is going on with shoe sizes?! My old school Chacos from 2001 (no idea the model name) are size 8. I still have them and love them as sandals, hiking shoes, even running shoes sometimes. I am headed to Europe this summer and am on a quest for comfortable stylish shoes and so was excited to see these! Sadly, this model feels way too big. I feel like planks are strapped to my feet. I'm afraid that if I size down, the leather toe straps will really dig in to my toes. (When I jam my foot as far back as I can, there's over half an inch of footbed sticking out of the front, when I scoot my foot all the way forward, the straps dig painfully.) Haven't decided if I'm going to give the 7s a try. For the right foot shape, these would be great. The search continues.
Chaco was launched in 1989 by Mark Paigen. Paigen, a fly fishing and whitewater rafting guide on the Colorado River, began making sport sandals for his fellow guides. Eventually, he started making the unique sandals for clients, and the demand for Chacos continued to grow. In 2008, Chaco was acquired by Wolverine World Wide, Inc.
Chaco sandals incorporate a pull-through strap system that is micro-adjustable for the perfect fit and designed to help keep the foot in place during wear.
All Chaco sandals have BioCentric™ footbeds, which are approved by the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA). These footbeds control pronation, maximize performance and ensure a comfortable, supported stride in any activity.
Today, Chaco shoes (affectionately called "Chacos" by those who wear and love them) continue to heed the call of river guides, climbers and hikers with Chaco multi-sport shoes, sandals and flips. Explore the complete collection of styles, including women's Chaco and men's Chaco.
