About Rocky

Rocky understands the importance of hard work and hardworking footwear. In 1932, two brothers who lost shoe-factory jobs in the Great Depression founded the William Brooks Shoe Company in Nelsonville, Ohio. The business succeeded and grew to include military, labor and duty footwear, eventually expanding into outdoor and Western boots.

Designed by the grandson of one of the company founders, the original, award-winning Rocky boot became the foundation of Rocky Brands. Today's Rocky footwear is highly engineered for performance, durability, lighter weight, support, cushioning, ease of use and style with various, specific ASTM-rated workplace protections, as well as proprietary materials and construction technologies.

Still in Nelsonville, the Rocky company goal remains to provide quality outdoor and occupational footwear. When the work is tough, hardworking men and women turn to rugged Rocky boots and shoes. Engineered for durable, reliable performance in a variety of demanding work environments, Rocky boots and shoes offer many options in underfoot support, protective toes and outsoles, waterproofing, insulation, convenience and overall comfort. Rocky boots and shoes keep you comfortable and looking good until the work is done.
