KEEN started with a simple concept: Offer the support and protection of a shoe plus the freedom and comfort of a sandal. Thus the waterproof, hybrid, Newport sandal was born, sporting the brand's signature toe bumper. As well as iconic Newport and Venice sandals, KEEN's range includes shoes, boots, socks, bags, clothing and accessories for men, women, boys and girls. Function, fashion or utility, many KEEN footwear products incorporate their own proprietary, performance "Hybrid.ology" technologies, and all deliver on comfort and quality construction.
"HybridLife," KEEN's brand philosophy, encompasses, in part, their commitment to offering products enabling customers to "play anyplace without a ceiling." Another promise is their aim to be good citizens of the planet: In 2004, KEEN donated their yearly marketing budget to Asian Tsunami relief, which subsequently evolved into the Hybrid.Care partnership program.
Headquartered in Portland, Oregon since early 2006, KEEN opened a plant in 2010 to begin assembling, in whole or in part, some products in the United States, identified as "Built in the U.S.A."
