Giveaway: KEEN A86 Trail Running Shoes

**  **  **  **  **  **  **  **  **  **  **

Thank you for playing. THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED !

**  **  **  **  **  **  **  **  **  **  **

Since 2003, KEEN shoes have been favorites among outdoor lovers and people who value comfort. From popular KEEN sandals to KEEN hiking boots, street shoes and more, devoted customers have come to rely on their KEENs as their everyday, year-round footwear.

Now, outdoor athletes can look as good as they feel in the new KEEN A86 TR, a sleek, lightweight trail-running shoe that strikes a perfect balance between minimalism and comfortable, protective support.

Editors at TrailRunner magazine liked the A86 so much, they gave it the Editors’ Choice award for Best Minimalist Shoe; OnlineShoes.com likes its customers so much they’re giving away a pair of men’s or women’s KEEN A86 lightweight shoes to two lucky winners, so they can head for the hills in spruced-up, pared-down fashion.

The first thing to notice about these breathable mesh KEEN shoes is that they’re offered in a wide array of colors. Men’s KEEN A86 shoes come in a color palette dominated by bold, primary hues, while the KEEN A86 for women have a softer look—all of them miles away from the slate, moss and dirt hues that tend to dominate the trail running category.

The second apparent feature is the unusual, asymmetrical lace closure. In addition to looking, well, pretty darned cool, this positioning is designed to relieve pressure on the most common pressure points, providing greater comfort. It also laces further down toward the toe, for a snug, glove-like fit at the forefoot. Combined with the absence of a rock plate, the result is a better feel for the ground beneath your feet.

Features not as readily visible include a flexible, ultralight compression-molded polyurethane midsole, high-rebound, removable EVA insole and tough, protective rubber outsole that boasts 3mm multi-directional lugs to bite into challenging terrain. Even when all these features are stacked up, the KEEN A86 for men is a mere 8.0 ounces, while the women’s weighs in at 7.8 ounces. (While these KEEN shoes run pretty true to size, it’s recommended that people who measure in between sizes order up a half size rather than down.)

With the minimalist A86, KEEN is appealing to an increasingly agile audience—but even if this neutral trail running shoe doesn’t make you any faster, at least you’ll look great wherever you go!

Two randomly chosen blog readers will each win one pair of men’s or women’s KEEN A86 TR shoes, with a value of up to $100. Just answer the question (in 200 words or less) in the comments section below: “How would a pair of KEEN A86 TR shoes increase your enjoyment of the outdoors this summer?”

Entries will be accepted from Tuesday, May 10, 2011 through Tuesday, May 24, 2011.

See the complete contest rules and regulations for details.  Open to U.S. residents only. No purchase necessary to win.

***UPDATE*** 06/13/2011

The giveaway is now closed and the winners are:

1. Trey “I’ve been trying to transition to minimal running shoes, but have yet to find the perfect pair. Based upon my prior experiences with Keen shoes, I’m thinking the A86 may be the perfect minimalist shoe, for both trail running and road running.”

2. amymarietrail “A new pair of Keen’s would increase my enjoyment of the outdoors this summer because I would give them to my daughter and we could go on long walks together. I have been trying to think of activities, which will enable my daughter and I to spend more time together as well as get in shape. I believe one way to get her excited about exercise is to get her in a great pair of shoes like Keen! When my daughter saw the A86′s in River Blue she loved them. Parents of young girls can probably understand how exciting it is when they find a style they like because it doesn’t happen very often!”

Congratulations! Thanks to everyone for your inspiring submissions and make sure to check back with the OnlineShoes Blog, we’ve got other exciting things planned on the calendar!

  • Aren’t shoes the absolute essence of enjoying anything? I mean, the right shoes can make or break an outfit, an outing, or any event. These shoes would absolutely make me feel more put together, comfortable, and ready for just about any outdoor activity this summer. After the long, harsh winter we had, I’m looking forward to sucking up every ounce of summer available.

  • I love trail running, but haven’t been able to go because i currently only have one pair of running shoes, and didn’t want them to get destroyed on the trails. This would make my summer; i plan on visiting my bf and running on the trails in the smokey mountains!

  • My feet love Keens!! I wear orthodics and can’t really go without them for long before my knees and back start to ache, so no flip flops for this mamma. I wear sneakers most of the summer and these babies would be awesome for runs along the Cape Cod National Seashore and riding to the farmer’s market with the kids in the bike trailer, and everything else in between!

  • These would increase my enjoyment of the outdoors this summer because not only would I be styling as I hit up the streets of Chicago, but it would give me the motiviation I need to pick up the pace and head for a run….I plan to run so fast that there is a neon blur of a trail running beneath my feet. These shoes can take me from concerts in the city, to trails down in the burbs, to a bike ride across the state and if I’m lucky and the bride will allow me, a wild wedding reception…yup, I’m that daring.

    —By 2alicia on May 10, 2011 at 10:42 am
  • I moved to the ‘burbs at the end of last summer. What better way to learn my way around the parks and trails than through a series of trail runs I want to embark on this summer? I have the desire, I have the excitement…but I don’t have the trail runners for it :) . KEEN A86 TR shoes would enable me to enjoy my new surroundings in the best way possible!

  • These shoes would help me to enjoy the outdoors by motivating me to increase my running distance.

  • I just started getting into trail running and just love it! Unfortuntely, my pocketbook does not love all the $ spent on triathlon, racing, bikes, etc. so my budget is maxed for this season. A new pair of trail shoes–esp in a minimalist style that I wear–would get me out and running in the trails more and with the right shoe. Plus, they are so good looking!!

  • A86 trail runners would help me enjoy the outdoors more this summer by helping me get started in trail running! I have wanted to start trail running, but just haven’t done it yet and getting a new pair of trail shoes would definitely give me the push to get out there and finally try it!

—By Christine Jensen on May 10, 2011 at 11:21 am
  • I only run on roads or sidewalks. This summer I want to hit the trails so I really need some trail running shoes and I already have several pairs of Keens so theses would fit right in.

  • A pair of KEEN A86 TR shoes would increase my enjoyment of the outdoors this summer by making my feet feel more comfortable since the shoes are lightweight, have a glove-like fit that relieves pressure from common pressure points, and a breathable mesh upper. They sound like they’d be so comfortable and the River Blue/Mimosa color is so pretty.

  • Over the past 365 days I have accomplished a number of personal goals. I have ran everyday for 365 days, I have went from road racing to ultra trail racing and finished my first 50 miler. After tow decades of mostly road running, I simply can’t imagine why I had found my love of the trails before now. A pair of new Keens would help me with my next step…100 miles on the trails.

—By Shelly on May 10, 2011 at 12:52 pm
  • These would increase my outdoor fun by hitting the trails! I have run 99% of my miles on the road and have been wanting to try my hand at the trails more often. Some awesome trail shoes would really help :)

—By KSeb on May 10, 2011 at 1:14 pm
  • I would love a pair of KEEN A86 TR shoes this summer for my vacationing. I’ll be walking all around Chicago with my husband, and hitting the Smoky Mountains hiking trails with the whole family. My husband and daughter are distance runners, and maybe – just maybe – these will help me keep up with them!

  • A new pair KEEN A86 TR shoes would get me off of the treadmill and outside this summer :)

  • I have tired feet a lot in the summer and I am running after my sister’s young sons (6,5 and 2) and I need to wear a comfortable and durable shoe.

  • A pair of KEEN A86 Trail Runners would allow me to get off of the pavement and back into nature! I moved from Alaska to Bend, OR 2 years ago and have avoided getting out into the vast wilderness that is so abundant here because of lack of proper footwear. I’m a college student about to graduate with my Associates of Arts this summer and have been broke for the majority of the two years I’ve been here. I finally bought a pair of cross trainers, but they have proven ineffective and uncomfortably small (no one wants to take them off of my hands)! I miss getting in touch with mother nature like I used to, but it’s just not as easy here as it was back home. As a former varsity track runner, I have this incessant urge to run all of the time. I just quit smoking in November of 2010 and have been trying to increase my running but alas, city running is just not my scene. Please grace me with perfectly shod feet so that they may carry me back into nature, health and wellbeing! Oh, and I promise I’ll get them dirty as all hell!

  • A pair of KEEN A86 TR shoes would increase my outdoor pleasure this summer by providing comfort and allowing me to keep going longer on my feet.

  • These gorgeous Keen’s will help me become increasingly agile.

    —By erob65 on May 10, 2011 at 7:44 pm
  • KEEN A86 TR shoes would make my summer trail running happier because, well lets face it, nothing feels better than running in a pair of shoes you won but how could you not enjoy being in the outdoors if every time you look at your feet you see those bright red (or blue or purple) beauties smiling up at you?!

—By Laurie on May 10, 2011 at 8:04 pm
  • I love running on the trails! This summer I plan on getting on them more than once a week (I’m a house dad during the summer). I get on them in the rain as well and my shoes may not be dry enough to run in if I can get out two days in a row. So, I would need these to help me get out more often!

—By Erik A on May 11, 2011 at 3:24 am
  • Trails are where I lose and find myself. I am lucky enough to have a best friend to run most of my long runs with, and she and I find solace in the woods around our city. It is our time together to unwind, release tension, and unravel the mysteries of growing older. I figure together we share some of the most important things in life – exercise, friendship, and understanding.
I have been searching for a new shoe to run in, since my last pair were a terrible fit and caused me to lose several toenails due to bruising from repeated impact. I love KEEN’s and have several styles but never tried the running shoes. The KEEN A86 TR would increase my enjoyment of the outdoors this summer by allowing me to get out there and do what I love, without causing me undue pain.

  • My feet are excited to slip into a lightweight pair of the new KEEN A86 TR trail running shoes. These would inspire my spirit to run with the wind as we blaze the trail with comfort, color and style. These shoes are not only wonderful for a run but also those busy errands of running around during the day. The comfortable fit will endure a day’s activities and attract jealous admirers.I am sooo KEEN for a pair!!

—By keenfan on May 11, 2011 at 9:10 am
  • I outfit my entire family in Keen shoes throughout the year. Keen is a name we love and trust with our feet. The newest addition to the Keen shoe family of trail running shoes would be the perfect addition to my shoe collection as I am an avid runner and would thoroughly enjoy running my many 10Ks, half marathons, and possibly my first marathon.

—By jenniferb on May 11, 2011 at 9:36 am
  • How a pair of KEEN A86 TR shoes increase my enjoyment of the outdoors this summer? I just started running/walking with my old Keen this week, and my goal is to lose 15 pounds this summer. My trainer told me, “You should invest in a good pair of trail shoes, and make sure you buy a pair of shoes that you like the look and style.” Keen A86 TR seen like a great pair of comfortable trail shoes to run/walk around Santa Anita Canyon Loop Trail in Arcadia, California. And, the most important is my short Asian legs will look so freakin’ good in them. Thanks.

—By babeinpink on May 11, 2011 at 11:49 am
  • omg look at those beautiful shoes. i would want everyone to see my new shoes and i would walk everyday to show these off to everyone. i love the lightweight shoes. so much nicer than the traditional walking or jogging shoes. i hope i win.

  • This summer, I will run my first marathon — something I’ve been dreaming of for a long time. I can’t wait to be able to call myself a marathoner. But then what? I’ve been thinking a lot about getting into trail running after the marathon, but I don’t have any trail shoes…

—By Kerrie on May 11, 2011 at 9:38 pm
  • I’ve been wanting to break into trail running for awhile and the KEEN A86 TR shoes would be a perfect way to start. I’ve also been interested in minimalist running shoes and they appear to be the best of both worlds. I’m hoping to hit some trails this year and wining these would be just perfect!

    —By xm41907 on May 12, 2011 at 7:29 am
  • The right pair of shoes means your time out of doors is enjoyable. Instead of worrying about comfort, pain or that little blister forming, you get to enjoy the view, the smell and just the time. A pair of Keen A86 TR shoes would be the shoes I would want to be in!

—By Katy on May 12, 2011 at 8:42 am
  • Fun running shoes have a big impact on my motivation. Put me in these and I will be hitting the trails daily!

  • I would LOVE a pair of KEEN A86TR Shoes!!! They would be so nice for the annual “DAM” run I do through the woods in Enumclaw, WA.

—By asbrye on May 12, 2011 at 9:54 am
  • I’m just coming off an injury due to too many miles in the wrong type of shoe. I know the importance of a stability shoe, however the weight makes it hard to work on speed. Unfortunately there aren’t a lot of great minimalist shoes out there that offer stability, so this would be perfect to get out of Nashville heat this summer, which is unbearable for running, and hit some shaded trails without feeling like I’m being weighed down by my shoes.

—By Lisa J on May 12, 2011 at 9:58 am
  • New Keens! Pick Me!
I live near the Appalachian Trail and the C&O Canal, and would love a pair of trail shoes so I can get out there and enjoy the natural resources so close to me.
I don’t want to trash my road shoes (wouldn’t want to mess up new Keens either!) and having trail shoes fill the bill perfectly.

—By Tracy on May 12, 2011 at 10:14 am
  • A new pair of KEEN A86 TR shoes would be great inspiration to get outside and cross train to help me prepare for my first half marathon in August! After having my first baby last September I still need to venture out and buy a new pair of shoes that fit right! It is hard to find a cute, performance ready shoe in size 12! Thank you for a chance in this giveaway!

  • Can’t wait to get them muddy running through the woods in Ohio.

—By Elizabeth So on May 12, 2011 at 1:55 pm
  • I would love a pair to get my tender feet over the rocks at our local river park system. Keens would be great for boulder hopping so I could keep up with my fearless three year old. Yes, I said 3 year old, he fears nothing so I need all the traction I can get.

    —By Jillmac3 on May 12, 2011 at 4:23 pm
  • Love these new Keens!! Must have them for summer trail runs!

—By Rebecca T-W on May 13, 2011 at 9:12 am
  • I have been dying for a pair od trail running shoes and these look perfect. I am currently sidelined with a stress fracture and would love to start back with some trail running. These look perfect for that!

    —By Heather*marie on May 13, 2011 at 1:45 pm
  • After taking a few years off from running, I have recently gotten back into it and have been knocking of goals one by one the last couple months. It all started with a 5k, then a 10k, and next week I will be doing a 15k. After that the next goals are a half marathon and a trail race! These shoes would be perfect for training on the miles of trails in my college town!

    —By Plags23 on May 13, 2011 at 5:36 pm
  • I am in the military and it is my job to stay active and be in good physical shape. But, only recently have I begun to embrace running and turned it into a hobby rather than a chore. I am training for my first half-marathon in the fall and I can’t think of a better way to train than to hit some trails with a brand new pair of trail shoes. Sometimes it is hard, juggling a career and a family, but I love finding the time so I can have “me” time. Time to reflect. Time to relax. And most important, time to regroup and reenergize!

    —By Sharpe211 on May 14, 2011 at 2:18 pm
  • I’d love to get out on the trails in these shoes this summer. Exercise, especially running is therapeutic and would help me to decompress after a long day at work. Getting back to nature during the summer is one of the things I look forward to after a long cold winter!

—By DrJTloverock on May 16, 2011 at 12:36 pm
  • I’d love a pair of Keen A86′s. Winning a pair would make my summer more enjoyment because it would make me look so cute running down the road all summer! :-) No really, I’ve been wanting to try a pair of minimalistic running shoes but as a dairy farm family we just can’t afford $100 shoes so I will either have to win a pair or wait til they are al sale somewhere.

—By ellen on May 16, 2011 at 6:00 pm
  • Keen trail shoes would definitely help me to enjoy trails and being outdoors this summer. My plan is to transition completely to trails from roads and a trail shoe would really help. No more slipping around on the trails if I had a pair of actual trail shoes strapped to my feet. Plus, the colors are awesome! I am so sick of the boring road shoe colors.

—By Jill F on May 17, 2011 at 3:34 am
  • So many foot problems/surgeries over the past 25 yrs. and with it all, thank goodness for Keens allowing me to walk and hike when I didn’t think that I could or would!

  • Very cool. Love to make sure I have good support while running in the Rocky Mountain Park this summer.

—By jshirley on May 17, 2011 at 4:05 am
  • Trail running shoes are the best, and Keen are my favorite brand of shoe, so perfect combination! I love trail running shoes because I can instantly switch from one level of activity to another, (casual walk to 5 mile run) and because I can go from work (massage therapist and yoga teacher) right into play!

  • I’ve been making the slow progression from road to trail running, and recently competed in a 10-mile trail race using road shoes. I almost lost one when my foot got literally stuck in the mud. A new pair of Keen trail runners would push me into trail running full time this summer.

    —By David02474 on May 17, 2011 at 4:32 am
  • There is nothing better than an ultralight fully protected shoe. Summer is about running barefoot in the grass (at least when you are a kid)…. and this shoe gives you the ability to get almost back to that feeling. Heck at 8 ounces they just might stay on my feet 24/7.

    —By bill12s on May 17, 2011 at 4:38 am
  • I don’t run at all. During the summer I work 10 hour days and am on my feet the entire time giving walking tours. I would love to wear these Keen A86 trail shoes to keep my feet happy!

  • I’m a runner and triathlete and need to take care of my feet when not in running shoes. Regular sandals and cute summer shoes typically are terrible for your feet, but the Keen sandals are cute and have good cushioning and support to keep my feet happy all summer long!

—By Beth on May 17, 2011 at 5:02 am
  • The military has moved us around the world and we have landed this time in beautiful Colorado Springs where the running trails are abundant and beautiful. It’s the perfect place for a pair of KEEN A86 TR to show you exactly what they are made for.

  • I am a very active Grandma of 6 and the Keens would keep my feet happy playing with all the kids. The Grandgirls always have an opinion on what I wear and how I look so the COOL shoes would be fun to have.

—By Grandma 6 on May 17, 2011 at 5:12 am
  • I own only keen shoes and then I own a pair of Patagonia for fast running/walking. At my age (Senior Citizen Plus)I welcome KEEN to be added to my quick walk routine to keep alive and well! It will take a few months to save for my purchase but I will indeed trust KEEN to provide happy and healthy feet. No I cannot “trail run” like most of your posted comments, but I can surely enjoy the nature walking I do daily.

  • As a beginner triathlete (3rd season,) I have always classified running as a necessary evil! It has not been my strongest leg and I have always struggled. However, recently I have discovered the joy of trail running!!! Off the beaten path keeps me engaged and its FUN! I find myself choosing to run a few extra days a week and I would love to have spiffy new trail shoes to up the ante on my spiffy new trail runs!

    —By kbuoy10 on May 17, 2011 at 5:47 am
  • I hike with my dog everyday in my Keen Voyagers, which are about a year old. Like so many others, money is tight these days. A free pair of new Keens (especially a pair that looks light weight and summer-y!) would make my feet and my wallet so happy!

—By krobin on May 17, 2011 at 5:47 am
  • I will admit to being a shoe snob–I only wear Keen! I love the way they fit my feet and there are so many great styles to choose from. I am a hiker and swimmer, but am looking to bump that hiking up to trail running. This might really be the motivation I have been waiting for! I will be 48 years old next week and am trying to keep my focus on living healthily for the rest of my many(hopefully) years. LOVE the colors on these shoes, they are good for my mental health!

—By athensga on May 17, 2011 at 6:00 am
  • What a yummy array of color choices! I would LOVE to win a pair of these Keen A86′s. They are definitely eye-candy and with these on…I would HAVE to step it up a notch because everyone would be watching!

  • I am a busy stay at home mom who doesn’t have a ton of time for herself. Because I spend a lot of time in the car, I am not as active as I need to be and would like to be. A pair of Keen A86 trail running shoes would really help me in getting both myself and my kids active with lots of hiking, walking and running!

—By nikkidesantis on May 17, 2011 at 6:06 am
  • I purchased these shoes in coral from Online Shoes when first available. They are awesome! You don’t need to be a runner/hiker to love them. Very cute, lightweight, comfy, true to size, and a groovy style. They are great for walking on gravel or any rough terrain. Your feet think they are walking on soft grass! They are great for chasing around my 2-year old grandson. Great traction, no slipping on slippery grass slopes. These shoes are functional, durable, and so much fun to wear. Thank you, Keen, for these awesome shoes. I wish I could afford to buy a pair in all colors!

—By Deani on May 17, 2011 at 6:12 am
  • I live in the outdoors in the summer – beach, boating, hiking with my kids – Keens are the answer to all!

  • I would enjoy your Keen runners this summer as I live at 7000 foot elevation have had numerous foot surgeries and hip surgeries on opposite sides and I’m now in physical therapy and would put these to great use and hopfully help in my recovery. Thank you for the oppertunity to win a pair of Keens as that is the only brand I buy that hold my orthotics well!! Robbie Sadler

  • Over the course of the past 6 months, I have committed to getting my body, mind and soul into shape. Hiking boots are too hot and heavy and I am looking for a lighter comfortable shoe. I work and play outside in my Keens and adding the KEEN A86 TR to my Keen collection will make me a happy woman!

  • I wear Keens all year and think the new Keen trail shoes would be perfect for the river trails in Chicago . I also would love using them on trails in Wisconsin or Michigan during the summer or fall.

  • Love my Keens from sandals to snow boots. They get me out of the house and into the woods out back. Keen is the one brand that allow my feet some comfort so my other sense can enjoy nature. Thanks Keen.

  • I’m on my feet all day as a massage therapist and Keen is my shoe of choice: I have 3 pairs I alternate among. How perfect to be able to make my athletic shoes Keens as well! I know my feet would be happy, hitting the trails in those shoes, because they are comfortable all day long as I use my skills to make other folks happy!

  • I am lucky enough to spend my summer working at an overnight camp. I’m in charge of the ropes course and climbing wall. We walk a lot and my running shoes are not the greatest for the uneven terrain. My running routine often goes on vacation at camp because of the hills and trails. A pair of the Keen trail shoes would make the running around camp much “smoother”!

    —By eeema2 on May 17, 2011 at 7:17 am
  • As a therapist, MY outdoor time is REALLY valuable to me and probably helps my clients, too. I need to make the most of the limited exercise and fun outdoor time I have and the Keen A86 would maximize my enjoyment (’cause the shoes look so cool) and provide efficient use of energy (definitely need the light weight shoe). I’m a Keen-addict – the A86 would have lots of friends in my closet.

  • I am responding to this request for my daughter,
Candy Stone, age 62. She is an Avid user of Keen Shoes from Online Shoes. When she was 14 years old she had Bunion surgery due to a genetic problem. Not too many were done at that time or on someone so young, and it left her with a foot pattern hard to fit. She wears Keens a lot and has found that the toe box in her size 101/2 to 11 the best fit for her life style. She lives in the mountains in Bishop, CA. She loves Keen’s for walking her dogs.

  • I would love to have a new pair of trail running shoes. I am now moving from flat running to hitting the trail and these shoes seem to be one of the latest and greatest. Would love to put them to the test here in Southern Missouri !!

  • I’ve been trying to transition to minimal running shoes, but have yet to find the perfect pair. Based upon my prior experiences with Keen shoes, I’m thinking the A86 may be the perfect minimalist shoe, for both trail running and road running.

  • I’d get out and exercise some more, hiking through the wonderful parks around here.

  • I just had my second child and I am biking and walking all I can with the baby to lose these last 15 lbs. A new pair of Keens would be amazing especially since we buy my oldest son a pair of Keens every summer and fall (they are the BEST kid’s shoe) and my husband has owned a zillion pairs but I have NEVER had a pair of Keens. Mama’s are always taking care of everyone else. Thanks for the great giveaway.

  • I just signed up for my first trail 5k run and these shoes would be awesome! Yes, they are stylish, but comfort and support are my goals. I’ve been running on pavement for years, but I’ve experienced pain in my knees lately, so I am trying to run on trails instead. I live in Keen sandals in the summer as I chase my three kids all over creation. Keen shoes, designed for trail running, are exactly what I need.

—By Suz on May 17, 2011 at 8:27 am
  • A new pair of Keens would help me out with my run training this summer. I am doing some 5Ks and 10Ks this season and want to try out some trails to increase my strength and speed. A new pair of Keens would be great for the trails while keeping my road running shoes in good shape.

  • Summer in Florida means rain and standing water.
My bunny snuffer-outter, PBGV hound and I walk twice daily and go through some wooly soggy places. I have to give up wearing the KEEN Whisper sandals in the Summer. Fire ants seem to know how not drown by clinging to the top blades of grass above water. Closed-toed A86 KEENS would keep (wo)man’s best friend hunting!

—By PBGVwalker on May 17, 2011 at 9:25 am
  • they would be there in the house staring me and screaming for me to get off the couch and outside in nature enjoying myself! and i would look super cool getting out on the trial!

  • Everyday is a KEEN shoe day! My summer most definitly includes my KEEN’s!These lightweight, good looking A86 trail runners will inspire me to keep fit ,in all my summer activities.Just winning a pair would add to a perfect summer. These shoes have always been a perfect fit for me!

  • Oh man, a pair of KEEN A86 TR shoes would make my summer this year and for years to come since they wear so well!

First, I love KEEN shoes so I’d happily advertise them with the big KEEN letters written on the side of the shoes!

Second, the comfort I’d experience would be outstanding!! My current KEEN’s are great so these would be a wonderful addition to my wardrobe!

Third, I would love to be a WINNER! I could really use that kind of boost for the summer!

Thank you for making remarkable shoes and I hope I win!

I have had several problems with my feet over the years, and find that Keen shoes are the most comfortable for me. Would truely love to try these shoes out, and especially like the colors!

  • Last september I broke my ankle and had some major reconstructive surgery. It has absolutely changed my life! I wasn’t even able to put on shoes until November and very selective ones for a few months. One thing is for sure….KEEN shoes are the best for all around comfort and style! I’m hoping a pair of KEEN A86 trail running shoes would help me put the bounce back in my step…..again! Thanks KEEN for such GREAT shoes!

  • Having surgery prevented me from working out for a year, which caused me to gain weight. I’m looking forward to partaking in various summer activities in order to lose this weight and get back on track. No better way to begin with a nice pair of Keens. These particular Keen’s seem great due to being lightweight, great for various types of activities and non-marking sole for rainy days at the gym.

—By vickylt on May 17, 2011 at 10:51 am
  • Keen’s are my favorite summer shoes. They are my go to shoes for all my summer fun… I can’t imagine summer without my Keen’s. So wining a new pair would make my summer even more fun because then I’ll have more choices. Oh How Happy I would be to win a brand new pair of Keen Shoes!

  • I love KEEN shoes! I own at least 4 pairs, and have just ordered 2 more pair. I have just started walking again and need comfortable shoes. With the pair of KEEN A86 I would be able to add light to moderate hiking into my workout schedule. Long live KEEN!

Walking to the park on the river path with my kiddos, playing outside in the yard, and to go to various farmers markets. Plus I love the bright colors. They are such a cheerful shoe! I love Keen shoes and would love to win!!!

—By drunner on May 17, 2011 at 11:31 am
  • I would love to try the new Keen A86 Trail Running shoes because I have never enjoyed running on pavement! It seems like pure drudgery unfortunately. But a run in the woods sounds like pure heaven! We live next to 150 acres of woods with a snowmobile trail already carved out of it and it is gorgeous in there! What a great way to stay fit for my family and know that I have the best shoes to do it in! Keens are amazing! Never been disappointed in them!

—By lotsapizza on May 17, 2011 at 11:40 am
  • I’ve always said my KEENS were magic. As soon as I bought them I was out in those Black Hills. They ignited a fire that had started to dim out. They put a little pep back in my step and brought me closer to Mother Nature. These shoes are most likely as magic as my other pair and I can always use some extra flame and pep to start my summer off right!

    —By Ine429 on May 17, 2011 at 12:53 pm
  • I love being outside but my feet don’t. I have arthritis and need an extremely comfortable well fitting shoe so I can enjoy my outdoor activities. Keen shoes are the best. They are so well made and comfortable that I never think about my feet because they are surounded with comfort, style and support.

—By Shelley Child on May 17, 2011 at 1:06 pm
  • My daughter’s soccer field is 1 mile from the road. I could wear the Keens (the most comfortable shoe in the world), trek up to the field and look great while cheering on her team! I would be the best looking soccer mom out there!

—By BSmith on May 17, 2011 at 2:13 pm
  • How could these not help me enjoy the outdoors more this summer? I LOVE my Keens anyway, and the idea of these lightweight, comfortable, supportive shoes on my feet gives me happy feet just thinking about it. I would be the envy of all my friends with those shoes on my feet!

—By Alex on May 17, 2011 at 5:02 pm
  • As a family of 8 we spend a LOT of time outdoors. We camp and hike a lot in the forest and at the beach. We walk a lot of trails and explore Earths blanket. Everybody – with the exception of 2 – in the house owns a pair of keen sandals. Our hiking and active shoes are either addidas or converse. Here in the Northwest we need to own a variety of shoes that accommodate the weather and expeditions.

I find that no matter where we’ve been, our Keen sandals are really easy to clean. Also our feet don’t ever get tired while wearing the sandals; but I am limited when I wear my addidas. The sandals are so very lightweight. That might explain why we tirelessly walk so much. I can only imagine that the A86 TR’s are just as lightweight. I am really attracted to the A86 TR’s for the design of the laces, the color schemes, and the soles. We find ourselves up at Washington Park hiking on some pretty steep hill embankments that aren’t well traveled. So, I’m thinking the traction being offered on the A86 TR’s should complement the needed traction, nicely.

  • As my grandmother said, “Never skimp on footwear! Comfort is built from the feet up.” Enjoying myself always depends on foot comfort and there are no better shoes than Keen. Whether I’m hiking, biking, strolling, gardening, cooking or reading, foot comfort is basic to my fun. And Keen shoes are artfully designed to make anyone look fantastic. When I’m wearing my Keens, I’m having a good time.

  • We live in an area with mountains and our main family entertainment in the Spring/Summer/Fall is hiking different trails. I have two pair of keens, my husband has two pair, my 4 year old daughter has two pair, and my 4 year old son has one pair! If keens were made for babies our newborn would be sporting a pair too! Keens have become the shoe we live in during the summer and I would love a chance to try the new A86 Keens for our hiking adventures!

  • I am a Keen shoes super fan. I do everything in Keens except run. These shoes would be a completion to my use Keen shoes for everything I do. I have bragged about my Keen shoes so much that many of my coworkers have joined the Keen team and love them just as much as I do. Thank you Keen shoes.

  • I love being outdoors and with two autistic boys I am running after them a lot! I was just introduced to Keen’s earlier this year and I have to say how thankful I am to have found them. Not only are they well made shoes but comfortable and stylish. To me they are a lot of fun and I am surprising those around me with styles that they didn’t think I would wear! Thanks, Keen!

  • I am an active ZUMBA-MOM, with children, pets & a professional career. People also refer to me as the ZUMBA-lady. I wear my KEEN sandals everywhere & am always being asked “Where did you get those shoes?” People love the toe guards(me too). Always refer them to online shoes & the KEEN brand. Have also given them as a gift to my elem. teacher friend whose toes were constantly getting stepped on by her class. I expect & need a good shoe that delivers, so KEEN is my brand. I also am a fitness instructor & my classes are always looking to me for recommendations on good fitness apparel, shoes, etc. Really would love to win this pair & show them off in our little small town of Evergreen, AL

  • I own 5 pairs of Keen shoes. I LOVE Keens! Over the last 5 years I have traveled to 7 different countries and always bring a pair of Keens. They have taken me through rainforest trails in Madagasgar, to ancient ruins in Greece and along the rolling green hills of Ireland. I am excited to see Keen come out with a light weight trail shoe. Every ounce makes a difference when you are out for hours. I also like the breathable mesh combined with great support. I can’t wait to try them out!

  • I just turned 50. Going into the so called Golden years. I shall be fighting it all the way. I bought my first pair of Keens this past year.I needed a hiking boot. After trying different brands on I loved the instant comfort of the Keen. They get tons of wear when camping and round hounding in rocky areas. I still love them! I think this new shoe would be great for walks on the beach with my husband of 25 years. We have both lost weight and want to keep my butt moving!

  • Keen is my favorite brand, their comfort is unsurpassed. I was honestly suprised when I first saw this A86, they look so different from other trail shoes, having the appearance of a urban walking shoe. I absolutely love it. No more drab gray trail running shoes! Leave it to Keen to bring some good looks to a great functioning shoe. Hope my dog can keep up with me on the trails this summer :o )

I have a pair of KEEN’s right now but they are 5+ years old and I’ve worn the tread off the bottoms! These shoes would seriously change my life!! There would be no end to the mountains I could run up!! :D

  • A new pair of Keen’s would increase my enjoyment of the outdoors this summer because I would give them to my daughter and we could go on long walks together. I have been trying to think of activities, which will enable my daughter and I to spend more time together as well as get in shape. I believe one way to get her excited about exercise is to get her in a great pair of shoes like Keen! When my daughter saw the A86′s in River Blue she loved them. Parents of young girls can probably understand how exciting it is when they find a style they like because it doesn’t happen very often! :)

  • I’ve enjoyed Keen shoes for several years. They are perfect for the outdoors–always so comfortable and stylish. Finding the right pair of shoes–Keen–takes the guess work out of what to wear. They are always perfect and fashionable with just the right support and lightness. If your shoes are not comfortable on your feet you wouldn’t want to go outdoors or anywhere—with my Keen shoes I never have that worry.

—By tooncinator on May 19, 2011 at 4:46 pm

  • Even though I am a young and fairly active person, I’ve already begun experiencing a lot of pain in my back and knees. A good pair of running shoes like the Keen A86 may help provide the support and shock protection I need to keep my pain at a minimum. I enjoy nothing more than being outdoors and exploring the backcountry. I just need something more permanently helpful than muscle rub.

  • First of all, they are so cute that I would want to show them off to everyone! They would take me to the zoo, the park, and even the mall, to show off! These shoes look so comfortable and stylish, yet made for fitness! Thanks!

  • My feet are sort of oddly shaped, and Keens are about the the only footwear that I can ever find of comfortably fit my feet. Unfortunately, my other two pairs of Keens are not even remotely designed for trail running. A pair of A86′s would rock!!!!!

—By Matthew Carter on May 20, 2011 at 8:04 am
  • These Keen shoes would increase my enjoyment of the outdoors by letting me run more on our local hiking trails. We have a lot of outdoor spaces in Wyoming and working so much, I don’t always get to enjoy as much as I’d like. The Keens would spur me to get outdoors more, even if it was just for a couple of hours on a weeknight, jogging our local pathway.

  • I just bought a Keen winter boots a few months ago, and love them. I’d like to try their line of shoes, as well as sandals. I hike in Valley Forge Park every weekend, and these would be a help. Their light weight and secure fit would help me enjoy the scenery more on the trails.

  • I run a lot in the summer especially on trails. I have 2 young children that I take running with me, so in order to keep in shape to live the longest life that I can live for my children, I love to trail run. These shoes would be great; from reading the article about them from above. A great pair of trail running shoes would be great to have!! I love the other keen shoes that I have and think that these would be a great addition.

  • Three months ago, I celebrated my 60th (yikes!) birthday. I’ve experienced a lot over the years, but I believe I still have so much to learn and do! So, I’m learning to ride a horse, recently dragged out my old trail bike, taken up whitewater rafting and am going on a zipline tour next month. This in addition to lots more of my favorite pastimes – hiking and backpacking. I’ve also just started running (on a treadmill in the gym) in preparation for my first 5K race in August. Now that the weather has turned balmy, I want to enjoy the beauty of my outdoor surroundings in the Arkansas River Valley and the Rocky Mountain foothills. I KNOW the Keen A86 Trail Running shoes would protect my feet, ease leg stress and generally keep my tootsies (and therefore, me) happy!

  • This summer I’m training for my first 100 mile ultramarathon! That’s 100 miles in under 24 hours, no breaks! I’ve spent the past five months running 14 miles a day on the trails preparing for my 50 mile race which was last Saturday. I currently run in regular running shoes, although the course was slick and slippery! Despite the fact I slipped and fell countless times, I ran the race in 9 hours and 44 minutes and was the youngest girl to finish 50 miles! Although my legs are all cut up from the falls, inside I feel so accomplished! The Keen trail shoes are the perfect light weight trail running shoes that can help keep my feet protected from rocks, and the traction is great to avoid slips and falls! Plus, since they’re so light weight they could help me run faster!

  • A pair of KEEN A86 TR shoes would increase my enjoyment of the outdoors this summer by taking my feet to new and exciting places, and keeping them happy and healthy! Oh Joy!

  • I love Keens and if I had a pair of Keen trail running shoes, I guess I’d have to take up trail running! That would be very awesome…

  • I would really enjoy using these Keens this summer as a light weight hiking/running shoe as I continue training for an Appalachian Trail thru hike next year.

  • Winning a pair of KEEN A86 TR shoes would increase my enjoyment of the outdoors this summer because of the fact that they made specially for walking, which means that they would be more comfortable on my feet. This is important to me, because after having my children I am now in the process of trying to get my body back in shape. I have been doing quite a bit of walking these days, but I’ve been having problems with my feet hurting, from not wearing the proper shoes, and I am not able to purchase any shoes at the moment. These KEEN A86 TR Shoes sound like they would be just the thing I need to help me along with this process, by making my walking easier on my feet. I am following and tweeting on twitter as @TodayzFashionz and I would love to sport these shoes!

  • Keen makes every season enjoyable. I need to infuse my running with a healthy does of Keen!

  • I’ve been struggling with hiking boots and trail runners — blisters, blisters, blisters! Sore feet make it tough to enjoy the trail. Keens might make my sad feet happy and get me out on the trails more!

  • I am an unfit ceo.
    Seriously.

But a trip to The Goat Rocks Wilderness and a visit to the Mazama Rockfest 2011 followed by a visit to Smith Rocks will fix that. I usually wear tennis shoes or keen sandals, but I’m super KEEN to give the trail running shoe a good workout. I look forward to a rock-in-the-shoe free hike, dry feet and some alpine scrambles in this shoe. And I can’t wait to have a good trail run without the jammed toes.

Can these new shoes help keep my feet pretty for sandals? I’ll bet they do and I’ll let sure let you know!

  • These are absolutely beautiful running shoes! I hit the road five to six days a week and have been finding my feet have been having a harder time with my running. I’ve been looking for a great alternative to the pair of running shoes I have now and from what I’ve read these shoes are the winners! Hoping to get a pair soon!!

  • A pair of KEEN A86 TR shoes would increase my enjoyment of the outdoors this summer because it’s my first summer with my first Guide Dog, Junebug! For the first time since I lost a lot of my sight I’m walking fast. She’s given me a new leash on life! A pair of KEEN shoes would be perfect for my walks with her. Thank you!

  • The place where I am employed, an outdoor adventure gear shop, is hoping to start a trail running group in southern Indiana. I would love to take the initiative to get everyone together, but I don’t have the proper shoes to run in. A pair of these shoes would allow me to get the ball rolling and hit the trails with a brand new group. Fun and practicality, all in one nice package :)

  • With a last name like ‘Kuehn,’ I get a lot of strange pronunciations. When correcting people, I always tell them, “It’s pronounced ‘Keen,’ like the shoes.” With my own pair of Keens, my last name might just become a little easier for everyone. Plus, I’d get the added bonus of hitting up the trails, rain or shine.

  • I am training for my first ultra and my wife is training for her first marathon. She has had the same shoe for almost 2 years now. She is slowly getting into pose style running and would greatly benefit from a light weight pair of Keens for training.

  • A new pair of KEEN A86 TR shoes would really increase my enjoyment of the outdoors this summer. I’d be able to take longer walks everyday, as I’ve just about wore out my old KEEN’s.

  • I would actually go outside.

  • A pair of Keen A86′s would help me keep solid footing on the wet rocks and slick bridges I encounter all summer long while out on the trails. Traction is important when I am toting several pounds of expensive camera gear. I’ve tried Nike trail runners, but they didn’t hold up well enough for me, and I’ve had to super glue the bottoms not once but twice. Plus these Keen’s come in purple, and purple rocks!

  • These shoes would make me hit up the trails more – hiking with my family, trail running with buddies, etc.

  • A good pair of shoes just means less pain and thus more distance and enjoyment on the trails.

  • I wear Keens for feet problems. They cushions your feet. This summer our family will be going hiking, while visiting a child, out of state. Our son lives close to state parks with wonderful hiking trails. We are looking forward to the experience of what nature has created over over the centuries.

  • Can’t afford to buy them right now–but would love to take these out for a couple hundred miles of outdoor fun!

  • I started running for fitness 2 years ago and now want to start trail running. The Keen A86 shoes looks fantastic and made of quality material for trail running. The color and the minimalist style in this shoes was what I was looking for trails. I would love to win a pair!

  • I’m a busy mom on the go. A pair of KEEN A86 TR shoes increase my enjoyment of the outdoors this summer because they are versatile enough to keep up with my schedule and stylish enough to make me feel good about myself.

    —By bballmom2two on May 24, 2011 at 4:56 am
  • Light weight and uber comfortable Keen A86 will increase my enjoyment because from the get go they’ll make me smile with their bright happy colors. I’ll be able to give the beautiful surroundings 100% of my attention instead of dividing it with how much my feet hurts. I’ll lace them up and breeze through my trek… forgetting I even have them on until I look down and see the vibrant color and great design and smile. :)

  • I have never heard of Keen until today. Looked at the website and looks like you have some really great shoes. I would love to give a pair a try especially now as I am on an adventure to lose some weight. Currently down 30 pounds. I have had a couple of back injuries and due to that foundational support (shoes) are very important. I used to really enjoy jogging around the nature trails with my kids (haven’t been able to since the injury) but I am healed and ready to get back out on the trails, so these shoes would be a perfect addition.

  • There’s nothing like a new pair of shoes to make the legs feel better. Especially when transitioning from a winter and spring spent ski touring in the mountains, what better way to welcome the next season than with a new pair of brightly colored KEEN A86 TR shoes!
