It’s better than a contest. Bigger than a giveaway. It’s a Shoestakes! And the prizes are the best we’ve ever offered (in fact, we may just quit our jobs and start twittering “#Shoestakes” so we can be eligible to win ourselves). But since the contest only runs through February 14, we’re sure you want to get started…so let’s do just that.
The Prizes
- Grand prize: An entire year of shoes on us—a $2,200 value. We’ll give one lucky blog entrant a $200 gift certificate each month to spend on summer sandals, winter boots or even just-for-the-heck-of-it sneakers. The choice is yours…and pretty endless.
- Weekly prize: We’ll give a $50 gift certificate to one lucky blog or twitter entrant each week.
How You Can Enter to Win It All
Write a blog
- Post a blog of at least 250 words about your 2011 resolutions and how our great shoes, bags or clothing can help you keep them. Plus, encourage your readers to tweet about your blog and you’ll earn extra entries for the tweets they make, plus give them a chance to win a $50 gift certificate (they must include your twitter handle and “#Shoestakes” in the tweet).
- The more unique blogs you write, the more entries you’ll earn. Once your blog is up, post a comment below with a link to your blog or your entry will not be counted.
- Not sure where to start with your blog? Let’s say you’re resolving to lose weight. Why not mention the New Balance 993 running shoe which can get you on the right path. Resolving to ask that man of yours to marry you? Post some women’s wedding shoes to spur you on. Or…well, we think you get the idea.
Embed a widget on your blog
- Once you write a blog, you can enhance it by adding our contest widget to earn an extra entry (plus another entry for every week it’s up). You’ll find our widget on the side of this blog. Just click the “get widget” button on the widget to embed the code or add it automatically to your blog, twitter account and more.
Tweet about your blog
- Get the word out and attract more readers to your blog by tweeting about it. Just make sure to include the hashtag “#Shoestakes”. Each tweet you make will earn you an extra entry (but no more than 10 times a day)

- Don’t have time to write a blog? You can still win the weekly $50 gift certificate by tweeting about someone else’s blog posted in the comment section below. Just make sure to include the blogger’s Twitter name and the hashtag “#Shoestakes”. Each tweet you make will earn you an entry (but no more than 10 times a day).
