Straps too small for wide feet - by , Aug 24, 2019
3/ 5 Stars
I bought these a while ago and it’s the reason I stopped buying chacos. I have wide feet and it’s always hard to find shoes that fit well to accommodate my wide feet. My first pair of chacos, I ordered in a men’s size to be safe. I loved them and still wear them to this day. I got these in a wide. The width is slightly too small, but I can deal since my feet aren’t spilling out. The problem is the straps are so short that I have to have the buckle all the way loose (with no left over strap) just for them to fit right. I spent big money so I thought I might as well wear them. Then people started to ask why I never tightened them or why I wear them “loose.” Some even asked if they were too tight on me and if that’s why the buckle is clear on the other side of my foot. Then I have to embarrassingly tell them that my feet are wide and these straps are really short. It’s not just one or 2 people...it’s multiple people. PLEASE make the straps longer on your wide width shoes! We’re paying big bucks and they don’t fit well. I should’ve returned them but at that point I had already worn them. Also, please add more patterns to your wide widths.

Great and long lasting. The wide fit was my solution (for big feet)! - by , Aug 08, 2019

I originally had chacos that were the medium width, rather than the wide fit. For some reason, they would always hurt when I went hiking, but everyone that I talked to told me that their chacos were super comfy to wear all day. I figured out that it was not the shoes themselves, or even the size, but that they were not wide enough. I am tall for a woman and therefore have large feet (wear a size 10 or 11). Therefore, if you have the same problem, try getting a wide fit. I can wear them all day long without having any pain or blisters. I absolutely love them and am so glad I found out my issue!! My old chacos lasted me 4 years until they started hurting (since my feet grew!) They are well worth the price. I can step in any puddle and walk any wear, and not damage or stain them. The picture was taken after I had worn them all day hiking and getting them dirty (and rinsing under water to clean). Simply run them under clean water and they're good as new!

Struggled to find the correct size. Pain caused by toe strap. - by , Aug 06, 2019
3/ 5 Stars
Finding a chaco in the correct size was a challenge. I started with a standard 6 which was too small. Sized up to a 7, and fit okay except it felt too narrow. Ordered a 7 wide (I have never been a wide in any shoe before!) And it was too big. Finally ordered a 6 wide, and it seems to fit well. Now that I think I have the sizing correct, I am realizing that the straps that overlap on top of my large toe joint puts an uncomfortable amount of pressure on the joint, causing excruciating discomfort, so much so that I appear bruised after wearing for an entire day. I can only wear for short periods of time, with several days break in between. This makes me so sad because I want to love them, and I should after making such an investment.

Sorry about that! You can usually alleviate the toe tightening with a quick cycle in the washing machine. Put them in a gentle setting with a load of towels and air-dry only. This should do the trick! If the discomfort continues please give the team a call at 888.211.1908. Thank you.

I love the way these shoes look, but other commenters are right: the straps on this are too short to wear. I have wide feet but often can get away with wearing regular width shoes, and these, even with the straps adjusted as directed, strangled my big toe. Maybe the arch of my foot is taller than most people's (I don't really think so?) but these sadly just can't work. Avoid unless your feet are 2D.

Bummed to hear that! There is an easy fix for the toe tightening! Sometimes putting them in the washing machine to get rid of the extra slickness on the webbing will do the trick. Just be sure to let them air dry. If the discomfort continues please feel free to contact the team at 888.211.9211 opt 2 Thank you.

I have a wide foot and these fit me perfectly & are so comfortable! The dual strap design gives me just the right adjustment for each foot. Great arch and foot support. Love the color combination.

Would be perfect if the strap wasn’t so short - by , May 21, 2019

This shoe would be PERFECT if the strap wasn’t as short as a medium width strap... on a CLASSIC shoe. Because it’s wide width, it should automatically have a significantly longer strap. It doesn’t. Then add to it that the cloud cushion adds a bit of extra space, and the strap should be a bit longer to account for THAT, but it isn’t. It’s almost like they didn’t even lengthen the strap for the extra needed for the toe. No matter how these are adjusted, the strap is comically short for a “wide width” shoe. Fully extended double strap is still too tight on the ENTIRE foot and almost impossible to get on at all. The double straps seem to be the culprit here. It’s a shame since I ordered 4 pairs of Chacos in the same exact size and the only strap long enough to get my foot in is a classic WITHOUT the toe loop. Chacos needs to step up their game on lengthening the straps a LOT more for wide widths. I’d have bought a pair in every color of the clouds if they fit. Guess I have to stick with the one pair of classics (which is disappointing, at best) that still has a strap that should obviously be longer than it is.

Amazing product! Durable and comfortable for long distance! Highly recommend someone helping you make them fit right if this is your first pair! - by , May 03, 2019

At first I couldn’t get them to fit right and was frustrated after reading so many great reviews! After watching the Chaco fit guide and having someone help me adjust them I have never had a more comfortable sandal! I almost want to buy 100 of them! So pleased with the purchase and cannot wait for it to get warmer out to wear them constantly! My feet do not hurt at the end of the day which is a miracle! I have walked up to 10 miles a day in them!
