Comfort
Comfortable and DURABLE! - by , Apr 16, 2019
5/ 5 Stars
Great sandals, comfortable and durable. I bought my first pair in 2000, and it was about 15 years before there was any significant age-related wear & tear. I bought them my first summer as a raft guide and wore them for 6 summers in that capacity. Since then I’ve worn them casually, walking/boating/swimming (they do float)/yard work/light hiking, all summer every summer. They’ve been put to the test for sure. At this point, 19 years in, they are still completely wearable, although the bottom of the sole is separating and the tread is mostly gone. NINETEEN YEARS and I will still wear them until it’s impossible. That’s a good shoe.

Compares to the Unaweep - by , Aug 05, 2019

I am a lover of Chacos. My first pair of Chacos I bought in Chico,CA. They were the Z/2 Unaweep. The tread split on those but a little superglue did the trick. I’ve had several more Chaco’s I prefer the Z/1. Nothing can really compare to the stealth tread and Unaweep tread. Wish those were still available. However the new tread isn’t bad. Just not as big of lugs that I’m use to. Felt similar to the stealth tread. So this new Z/1 isn’t as wide as the Z/1unaweep but it was still wide enough to fit my foot. Being 6’ 250lbs I prefer something sturdy and rugged. These did the trick. I have Bedrocks, Teva and other sandals. The Z/1 are my go to sandals for all day hiking and being on my feet when I need the support.

I ordered my husband’s usual size 10 and he couldn’t even get them on his feet. Runs very small. Otherwise, they were nice and well made. Had to return.
