Comfort
Surprising Asymmetry in the Print - by , Feb 25, 2020
3/ 5 Stars
Just received my new Odysseys today. They seem comfortable enough, but the asymmetry of the printed fabric between the left and right sides is striking. I would think that some effort would have been made to put together left and right sandals that looked good together. But since I didn't buy these for the looks, I plan on living with it. Although, I now wish that I had gone with a solid color. I would add that a "tighter" pattern in the camo print may have resulted in a more consistent look. What you might read in other reviews about the cinching strap being too long, and dragging the ground, is actually true. I had discounted those reviews, but it really is an issue. I am happy with the sizing, but I pretty much need to keep these fully cinched, which leaves quite a bit of a "tail" on each sandal strap. I'm not sure yet how that will play out on the trail, but I think I'd better get some stick-on hook and loop strips or straps before these start getting soiled and chewed up. I also was surprised by how stiff the soles are. My guess is that these will provide pretty good protection from rocks and roots on the trail. These sandals might work out well for cycling as well. I'll have to give it a try. These appear to be well designed, and overall manufacturing quality appears to be quite good.

Difficult to get on as the back doesn't expand as much as it needs to. However, once they're on, they're a great shoe.

My podiatrist gave me some choices to help alleviate my foot pain. I went with Chaco, and the foot pain all but disappeared.

I work outdoors, and need a full toe sandle. These seem to fit the bill. - by , Jul 12, 2019

Toe is strong and avle to protect as you are climbing over rocks and uneven ground. The heel is tight so the sandal stays on. I have thin feet and these will clamp down but I have a lot of extra strap. I go through sandals fast so we will see how long they last.

Comfortable but hard to get on - by , Jun 20, 2019

They are comfortable and great for all day wear. The only complaint is that they are hard to on. The heal strap will not flex so it is hard to get it over you heel.
