Damn Fine Boot - by , Nov 12, 2017

Saw the flash sale for the Courtland and decided to take advantage as I have had great luck with the Original 1000 Mile. Sized them a 1/2 size down. Received them in 3 days and they fit perfectly out of the box. Have now worn them all day for 5 straight days without an issue. Really like the Vibram sole. Perfect for the recent wet weather. My only regret is not having ordered a pair in brown as well. Very highly recommended.

I love these boots - by , Nov 10, 2017

I've had mine for several years and wear them often.I have both Brown and Black and an extra pair still new in the box just in case. Seriously, I could wear any of my many other 1000 mile offerings I've collected over the years ( 10 pairs ) but I like the rubber sole and they are so broken in. Remember to use a quality conditioner and oil and they should hold up.

These were the first of my now 5 pairs of 1000 Mile Wolverines. The first impression upon opening the box is the amazing aroma of leather that the closest analogue I can come up with is Connolly Leather that was once the sole domain of Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, and Range Rover. The second impression was the utter shock that they were ready to wear out of the box. Not something I would have thought when talking about fairly heavy leather boots. I wanted the Courtland as opposed to the 1000 Mile as I preferred the front of the boot better. I also liked having the Vibram rubber pad on the sole as opposed to leather. These boots definitely run longer than any other footwear I have come across. It was great in this application as I was able to place a Birkenstock cork footbed in them that took the comfort to an amazing level. And there was a definite Tom Cruise effect as it added about another inch to the boots. As I am almost 6'1 as is, did not really need that.... Great to support products made in America. Bummed that a number of offerings in the 1000 Mile lineup are not made here. That I don't get as you guys have the "1883 Collection" or whatever it is you call it.

great boot right out of the box - by , Jul 05, 2016

Even before you take these boots out of the box you know these boots are different. The smell of the oiled leather is just the first hint of the quality of these boots. The first time I slipped them on I knew I had made a great choice as they fit perfectly (one full size down) and were very supportive without being rigid. The leather outsole with the rubber pad is very comfortable in contrast to the molded soles of so many of todays boots.

Great boot at a fair price.... Breakin period less than a day , easily worn all day...if a little large use insert or thicker socks ... Would buy again without question

It's been awhile since I've owned such well-made boots. These just called to me from the shelf of our local store when I went looking recently. Like my favorite dress shoes these will last probably the rest of my life. They broke in quickly, are beautifully made and seriously comfortable. They can be worn with really anything and I find myself choosing them nearly always. Because they feel so good, they have become my go to footwear when it matters how I look. Thanks Wolverine, for making quality footwear in the good old USA.

great great looking boot, but the fit is off - by , Dec 28, 2015

my first wolverine boot and likely my last. not sure what i'm doing wrong here but i sized down 1/2 as they recommended and they fit well comfortably, when i'm not walking. however, when i walk in these, the top left portion of my boot digs onto the top portion of my feet, as the boot slightly creases.. and i mean a very slight crease. i can barely walk without feeling pain and now feel a bit of a buyer's remorse. my research indicates that 1. these boots are very comfortable, and 2. they require little to no break in as the leather is super supple and soft. time will tell but not sure how much longer i'm willing to go through pain to break these in. maybe my feet just don't work well with these boots

Classic and Handsome - by , Nov 05, 2015

Everyone keeps pointing out that the boots run big. I am a true 10, and with the exceptions of some brands of sneakers that truly run big these boots are pretty true to size. If I don't use insoles, wear thin socks, then just maybe I can fit into a 9.5 without issue. However, these are the kind of boots in my opinion that need insoles not just for comfort, but are ergonomically necessary given that the bottom has hard soles (I realize people use insoles for just about anything but for sake of keeping in context). So after having insoles put in, and taking into consideration the various thickness of socks you wear depending on the season, and wiggle room for toes, a 10 seems to work for me.

We also want to make sure consumers are seeing the disclaimer, found in the description, that we’ve found many people prefer to size down one-half to one-full size in these boots. They tend to run long. Thank you for sharing your advice!

This Boot Receives Compliments! - by , Nov 01, 2015

I really love these boots. The construction is excellent, the CXL leather is beautiful. They compliment everything I wear - from chinos and jeans to dress wool slacks and a blazer. I even wear them with olive and brown business suits. I have the Courtland's in brown and will likely buy a pair in black. My only two "complaints" are they do run large - I should have ordered a full size smaller and they run wide. I have a medium width foot - would normally choose a "D" size width. These boots are seem to be cut very wide (I wonder if the CXL leather makes them feel wider than they are); I wish they were a bit more "snug". I have 3 pairs of Wolverine 1000 mile boots and both my pair of "Morley's" are a better fit in terms of width (and length). I would highly recommend these boots and if you read posts and blogs, you'll notice that sizing is an issue. Overall, great job Wolverine!
