Fit and felt better than I expected. I ordered the 2nd pair the same day my first pair arrived. - by , Oct 07, 2019

I'm a believer on the comfort and fit of the she's and sandals. The support is great!

I bought this shoe to use it at the lake. We have jet skis and the pier is so hot in the summer you can’t walk barefoot without getting your feet burned. This has been the perfect shoe to get wet in and out of the lake. I even swim in mine. Great outdoor shoe and extremely comfortable. As a matter of fact it might be my most comfortable shoe I own.

These shoes are great and allow me to work 10 hours on my feet! - by , Sep 10, 2019

I have a foot problem on my left foot and need extra time room. I work 10 hours on my feet on a hard floor without sitting down, often climbing stairs as well. They are well cushioned and offer great support. My feet no longer throb after work. They provide all day comfort and are great for hours of walking! Merrell comes through again for me!

Great traction. - by , Jul 24, 2019

I was pleasantly surprised with these sandals. I went on a 2 mile steep hike in them and the soles gripped the rocks with no problem. In the water they work well and dry pretty fast. They do get some pebbles in them, but I expect that from sandals. Once you get them on they are comfortable and easy to walk in. You do have to readjust the straps every time you put them on, and for me, I almost run out of velcro tightening them. Overall I am very happy with them.

Very comfortable. Went down one full size from shoe size (11 and bought a 10) after seeing other reviews. The 10 is perfect.

Worst sandals that I ever wore. It takes five minutes to adjust the straps.Merrell dropped the ball on these and you get no satisfaction from the company. Wasted my money on these, will never buy Merrell again

Rubber sides bit into my foot - by , Jul 08, 2019

Didn't like the Choprocks. The metal buckles were overkill (why not just velcro straps) and the rubber sides bit into my foot. Not comfortable.

I love Merrell but these sandals did not meet my needs. I bought a pair to use while kayak fishing. I was searching for something I could use in the boat and while wading. I was hoping my feet would dry once I’m out of the water. They run at least a size large for starters. The biggest problem, however, is the neoprene feeling stretchy material that rests between your foot and the strap. If you are even remotely active, the straps will move off of the neoprene material in onto your skin. I tried tightening and loosening the straps to no avail. I won’t post pics of my heel blisters. These sandals might work for you if you are mostly stationary. I would look elsewhere if you are active. My search continues...

almost amazing - by , Jun 27, 2019

I bought these sandals because of the purported traction performance in the water. I fish and hike in both river and marine environments with slippery, mossy rocks and high-pressure currents. Traction is really important. Normally I use a felt-soled boot for mossy conditions, but in the summer, it's nice to wear sandals. I was really impressed with the traction performance of these sandals in multiple conditions. Smooth dry rock: great! Dry lichen rock: great! Smooth wet rock: better than most! Mossy rock: quite impressive. Submersed slippery mossy smooth rocks: very nice! Loose dirt: great! For wet mossy conditions, these sandals outperformed my expectations. Where normal soles would be totally unreliable, these provided a fair measure of confidence... like good snow tires in the winter. A few criticisms: The sandal is equipped with some sort of stretchy padded synthetic upper that fits in between your foot and the straps. While I understand the purpose, to add comfort to the straps, the design has me a little flummoxed. The whole affair is disattached from the straps and is attached independently to the sole, so it just floats about until held in place by friction to your foot when the straps are cinched down. When the sandals are dry putting them on is a fussy affair because you can't just step in to them... picture pulling on a neoprene booty. When the sandals are wet... better find a place to sit down, because it's going to take some effort to get these things on. The upper also has a tendency to collect fox tails and burrs while you're slugging through the brush. I almost wonder if the sandal would be better without them. One final criticism: the shape of the foot bed and substantial engagement points of the straps make the sandal difficult to clear of gravel and debris that inevitably washes in while walking through a stream. Some sandals have a relatively flat rim, which assists in allowing the current to wash stuff out. These are more of a bathtub. I think something more minimal would be advantageous for a sandal that boasts water performance. In summary: I'm happy with these sandals, I'll wear them until they fall off my feet... mainly because of the amazing sole. The upper portion does not exhibit the same design rigor for it's intended use. Merrell, I'd love to see a simplified, minimal version of this sandal!
