Ordered: Black, size 10 Medium
Fit: Length, true-to-size; Width, narrow (for left foot); not a "thick-sock" boot!
Pros: Great style, design concept, especially for something different given the wraparound lace ties. While the boot isn't leather, it does have a good, non-faux, appearance, with a true black, smooth finish.
Cons: Heel fabrication is an unanticipated rubber-like material with two, thin, horizontal black, somewhat textured, "stripes" around the heel itself, giving the heel a more "rugged" appearance. On the pair received, the foot bed of the right boot had some type of internal structural deformity that poked into the right side of my foot; this wasn't an issue with the left boot.
General: This is a nice, unique ankle boot that would work well for someone with a "normal" or regular size 10 foot (i.e., no swelling or bunions). With foot issues, the width is narrow, though the boot may give/stretch a little with wear. The open or wider styled ankle is attractive, but speaks to a narrow ankle, rather than thicker/wide ankles. The tongue and pleating will gather and lay more perfectly with a narrow ankle; wide ankles make the back of the boot gap/stick out too far when the boot is tied (i.e., doesn't work well with straight, full leg pants). Would look great with opaque tights or ankle socks worn with skirts, dresses, or, cropped/ankle pants. Unfortunately, because of issues mentioned, returned the boots, but would recommend with reservations.
