The classic Vasque Velocity GTX trail runner goes from thru-hikes to summit ridges and everywhere in between. This durable women's trail-running shoe features a rugged synthetic nubuck and breathable air mesh nylon upper with a supportive TPU weld and a waterproof Gore-Tex® membrane. The Arc Tempo Last provides a powerful toe-off and enhances agility over technical terrain. The dual-density EVA footbed and midsole absorb shock and lend support. The Vasque Mako outsole of the Vasque Velocity GTX shoe features aggressive shark-tooth lugs that grab the trail while releasing dirt.
I have had these shoes for 4 years and they are still great shoes! They are by far the best shoes I've ever owned. Even after 4 years they still have great support. I have hiked in all terrains & climbed mountains in them. They are great for just wearing around town or simple runs on flat terrain too. I love the fact that they are waterproof. That has come in handy on so many occasions. Nothing worse than hiking or running in wet socks and feet. Great shoes!!!
I wore these shoes for four miles (at once) before my little toes started hurting. I think they're just too narrow to be my long-distance shoes, but they're great for dog walks.
My feet are a little wide, though I wear Medium width.
The tongues are also a bit stiff, and I've worn the shoes for at least 10 walks now.
I got a pair of Vasques 2 years ago. I needed a new pair & ordered the Velocity GTX. I walk/run in the woods all the time & needed something light weight, waterproof & something with good traction. The new Vasques were much heavier than the previous pair, very bulky, not like my older pair at all. I returned them and got a pair of Keene's that I simply LOVE!! The Keene's are everything I wanted, needed & much more!
Since I found these five years ago I've bought nothing else. They are expensive but worth every penny. They last me one full year of heavy desert hiking. The sole and toe pad dry out and wear after so much abrasive rock use, ie. lava, caliche, shale, sandstone, granite etc. Great on our creek hikes too totally submerged they dry perfectly. Hard to find because it's a trail runner not listed as a hiking shoe but trust me each pair gets 100s of miles of mountain use. This purchase was my 5th pair. I use my leftovers as general messy trail shoes. I'll die when they're discontinued.
This is the best walking shoe I have ever had. The fit is so special because of the room in the toe area. Plenty of space bottom to top of shoe and because of the lining for the Gortex it is very smooth inside the shoe.
