These are minimalist shoes for barefoot running outside. They are perfect for that.

A sock with a sole!

I expect this could be the perfect shoe for long airplane trips! Weighs nothing, goes on and off for security, and feels almost like a slipper on the flight... I wear it to and from yoga, for short treadmill workouts, and around the house. It really is shockingly thin/light: the upper is a plastic that is so thin you can see your toenails through it! And the sole, although well-shaped, feels almost like a heavy styrofoam. I would hesitate to wear these for any serious distance running/walking on concrete or asphalt. All the plastic also means these can run hot, especially if you have sweaty feet. Having said that, I will say they are very comfortable around the house, and I really like the adjustability: Velcro tabs at both forefoot and heel.

It felt flimsy and unsubstantial. I was afraid if I wore them outside they would wear out within a week.

Bottom line:
NO, I would not recommend this to a friend

When I saw this shoe I liked the looks of it. I wanted a shoe just to slip on that I could wear to weight lifting class. Was disappointed how it felt and looked.

Bottom line:
NO, I would not recommend this to a friend
