This is the third pair of Leiden boots I've bought over the past 5 years. It is stylish and classic. It is durable. The only reason why I purchased this pair is because my original pair finally broke and wore out after many years. I wore my original pair every day all day and night throughout the harsh NYC winters. It keeps me warm while being stylish. It's so comfortable too! These boots are an investment, not a fashion fad.

For those of you who have athletic calves and need to be able to adjust your boots for that, these are a great choice. They are a little roomier in the calf than an average boot. Though they have a full zipper the laces are adjustable to a certain extent. High quality, beautiful boot that get lots of comments and compliments. The brown color is a cocoa brown, not reddish or golden, a nice neutral brown. To me this boot has a fitted look, more tailored than some, not sloppy or loose or slouchy. It's a winner!

They were exactly how they appeared to be in the picture. Good leather, laces functional, although be aware that the tongue ins attached to the sides, from about the top of your true ankle, actually aids in water proofing if you wear them in real snow, which I have.

Comfortable for walking, bicycling, and walking in deep snow. I work behind the scenes at a venue, and have worn these while setting a stage, not that it was my choice to wear them, I was called in for a last minute emergency, and I was delighted that my foot wear performed.

I have worn them for casual to dressy, took a little to break in, but that is a sign that they will hold up, and now the fit like a glove.

I was able to get the wide size, and they were a perfect fit, as I do have wide feet, I also have very muscular calves, and I have room on the laces both ways (someone with bigger calves and someone with smaller calves would have room to make their adjustment).

Not a sloppy boot at all very tailored and tailored well... I can not say enough nice things about these boots... I plan on wearing them for many years to come!

Comfortable from the moment I wore them. Warm enough for CA, I might need thicker socks in Oregon. They are relatively warm.
Boots feels true to size but narrow around foot width. I size 10-M; my feet are a medium width but I had to order the 10-W, The 10-M would have been too narrow with socks.
The insole is comfortable but it is rather thin, fortunately it can be replaced.
The shaft is adaptable to any size calf. Once you have adjusted them to your calves, you can use the zipper to put on or remove.
My style changes according to my day/mood. Anything from 1930's to 1950's to new 90's, to European Chic and Conservative, etc.
These boots look sexiest with leggings/skinny pants/jeans, also good with skirts, a wool dress, etc. When the shaft is covered by pants they have a more formal look, like a pair of oxfords, which can work for office use. So you can play around with the styles. They have a riding boot/motorcycle police type of look but not aggressive looking; they are still feminine if you combine accordingly.

I couldn't be more thrilled with these boots!!! I've wanted a pair of lace up tall black boots for a very long time, but couldn't find a pair that was affordable and "right for me". Ordered a 9W, normally I'm an 8 1/2 wide, and with some padded inserts they are better than fine! I wear them with skirts, jeans, anything. They aren't heavy for the size, and are more comfortable than I can say. I work on my feet in weather (sell cars in Chicagoland area) and am comfortable all day in them.
I've also gotten tons of compliments!
I more pleased than I can say!

I have been looking for boots like this forever, long before boots were at their current hight of popularity. They were worth waiting for! Beautiful, high quality leather, soft yet thickish, a mellow finsh, polished but not shiny. The quality of leather and the well executed stiching gives me the impression that this boot will last far longer than the trend. I have a wide foot, and I am a martial artist, I ride a bicyle, and lift weights. I have large yet tapered, athletic, muscular claves. I am a nightmare to fit in boots. The wide width, was generous, and maybe more so than standard, I appreciated it, but other might need to take that into account. The enitre shaft of the boot with functional lacing, conformed to my curves, it is a very sleak look, but it is in no way, sleazy, and definately room for wider calves than mine, also, could conform to a much smaller frame as well. A great boot for a problem calf.I am breaking them in now, and they are performing, well. I have worn them while riding, and while working, involving some physical work, I will wear them regularly this winter, as they can conform with the outfit, and be dressed up or down, depending. Great boot. the only con I have is the lack of traction on the sole. I knew that from the pictures, and they are not at all a slippery sole, but greater attention to that detail, and a more rugged traction (not visually, just a little more grip on the bottom), could have made these fanastic boots perfect in my eye.

I love these boots. I am tall and was looking for something that had a low heel, was dressy and at the same time practical. They are perfect.
