Comments about Merrell Siren Sport GORE-TEX XCR:

I love my first pair of Merrells: women's Primo Patch. I wore them everyday at a job that required standing 80% of the time. I have another pair that are similar that I have used for walking in the Summer, so I thought I'd get these Siren Sport with Gore-tex for walking the dogs on wet days. I developed plantar faciitis a few months ago after starting a hospital job (walking/standing 100% of the shift) and with some therapy and inserts recommended to me during a visit with a podiatrist, my feet feel better.
I ordered the same size as my Primo Patches, but they were too small. I exchanged them for 1/2 size larger and they fit better, but my feet were not comfortable walking in them until I switched the insert to the one the podiatrist recommended. Now I wear them on my three mile walks with the dogs and I've worn them on a challenging hike. I was really happy with them during the hike. One problem I still battle with is the tongue of the shoe. The left side of the tongue on the right shoe rubs me wrong where the laces are tied. I have to pull it to the inside to get it in a decent place. Also, I'm starting to get some rubbing on the top/outer side of my small right toe. If you have wide feet, the regular size will be too narrow for you.
I like my Primo Patches the best and I use the original foot-bed inserts in them.

Service & Delivery comments:

Delivery arrived when expected. When I exchanged for another size it was easy, but I filled out the form online and on paper when I shipped the first pair back. I ended up receiving two pairs and was charged for one of them. I will ship a pair back tomorrow for a refund.

Comments about Merrell Siren Sport GORE-TEX XCR:

I live in a mountainous area full of trails that I run on. I also am about to complete my 2nd round of the P90X fitness program (which is done indoors).

The shoes are good for the indoor workout as they are lighter than the Merrell Chameleon.

I have a wide foot and these shoes are a little bit narrow. I have had 5 pairs of Merrell Chameleon Stretch Gore-tex shoes back to back. I am spoiled by the absence of a tongue and laces. Unfortunately, Merrell stopped making this model with Gore-tex and I had to find a different shoe. I called the Merrell company and asked them to recommend a comparable shoe. What I needed most was a shoe with Gore-tex and a flexible shank so I could feel the terrain of the rocky, uneven trails that I run and hike on. They recommended the Siren model as they were no longer making a slip on (stretch) model with Gore-tex .
While the shank is flexible, when I go offtrail, the left shoe's footbed is unstable and tends to make my foot numb or painful.
I did two indoor workouts with these shoes to see if they would work for me. The tongue and the laces needing double tying and retying was annoying after years of wearing the stretch model with neither tongue nor laces, but doable. It wasn't until I took these shoes up the mountain that I felt they were inferior to what I was accustomed to and now they were muddy, it was too late to return them. If I could have returned and exchanged them, I would have.
*I was traveling and went into a Merrell store last week and learned that the Chameleon Wrap Gore-tex is coming back very soon. It's too bad my last pair of these were just totally worn out and needed replacing before this release.

casual walker with foot problems. Took a bit to break in, tongue was stiff. But, as with all my other Merrell shoes (3) they were almost perfect right out of the box. definitely order 1/2 size up from normal shoe size. I debated buying a different brand, but after all the good luck I have had with my other Merrell's I decided not to chance it. Glad I didn't.

Because of the Gore-Tex material used the shoe has a little noise to them. Otherwise they are a nice shoe for winter weather.

Comments about Merrell Siren Sport GORE-TEX XCR:

I stand on a tile floor most of the day and these are so comfortable. They have a roomy toebox so my toes dont feel all scrunched up as they do in my other shoes. I have many pairs of Merrell for a reason.

Comments about Merrell Siren Sport GORE-TEX XCR:

I wear them jogging every day, currently in 10 to 30 F temperatures (side roads covered with ice and packed snow); also wore them in the rain and hours and hours walking in London. I have been extremely happy with their performance - they keep my feet dry and warm, excellent arch support, wide enough in the toe section. Definitely my favorite pair of multi-purpose training/jogging shoes ever!
