This is a really cute shoe but I followed the advice of two reviewers and ordered 1/2 size larger than I would normally wear. Unfortunately, the shoe is too big so, in my case , my regular size would have probably fit. Unfortunately, I will have to return these shoes since they're too big.

I was looking for something comfortable yet somewhat dressy for work and this shoe is perfect. It is not the most attractive but I'm all about comfort and Merrell has never let me down.

I love the color and style of this shoe. It looks great with both pants and skirts. Has a well formed shape in the sole and heel height that doesn't irritate my feet when standing or walking.

However, the heel is very stiff. Feels okay when sitting, but when I walk, the middle part slips and rubs a blister on my heel. The top seam around the heel is also rough, and angled in, so if your heel slips enough, it will cut into the skin at the top of your heel. I plastered both heels with bandaids, and managed to wear them a whole day. I think the heels would break in eventually, and it's not like I haven't had this kind of problem with other shoes. But it's always disappointing to get a classy pair of shoes and then have to go through that break-in period. By the time the blisters end, you hate the shoes that gave them to you.

The bigger problem is the narrowness of the toe box. My foot is slightly wide at the ball, from joint to joint. The toes themselves, not so much. Even though I bought a size larger than I normally would, and the length is tolerable, it is still too narrow in a medium width. After wearing for a full day at work, with nylons (thin socks didn't fit), my feet felt like I'd they'd been in c-clamps for hours. It was such a relief to take them off! Looking at the style of the shoe, this is probably always going to be an issue for me. I hate to give them up, but they will likely go back.

Both Merrells I've tried have had width issues for me. I'll probably have to look to another brand that styles a little differently.

I really like the style of these shoes, they are casual and feminine. I have the Merrell Plaza Emme and I love the support of the sole, so I wanted the same sole with another style, so I got the Plaza Strap. But the Archille's notch is very stiff and uncomfortable, very different from the Plaza Emme in which this part is very cushioned. I have to returned them.

Great shoe to wear with casual skirts as well as pants. No break in time needed, wore them for 12 hours first day out of the box. Bought them in 3 colors !

This is actually my second time around with these shoes. I had ordered and returned them last year because I preferred the Merrell Plaza Mary Janes. Now that I have found out they are no longer avaialbe, I came back to my second choice for the Plaza fit and style. They are dressy and comfortable. I still prefer the other style, but these are very nice shoes. My husband thinks they are dressier than the Mary Janes, and with some outfits, I agree.

These were a little tight in the toes so I sprayed some cheap cologne (mostly denatured alcohol) inside in the toe area and wore them around till they dried. Now they fit just fine. I really like them especially since they have a removable footbed and my orthotics fit in them.

I like the combination of comfort & style. I did add a gel cushion on the ball of the foot to limit slipping forward when wearing stockings.

These shoes felt a little narrow in the toe area. I wore them around the house for almost 2 days and they felt great! My orthotics fit in these shoes. It is hard to find good looking shoes with removable insoles that they fit in. I will stick with Merrell shoes.
