Merrell Edge Approach Shoes

These shoes have a nice color combination. They seem to have good cushioning. However, they are not at all comfortable around the ankle area.

I also purchased another version called Merrell Edge Jam and had to return them also due to the same problem. Both shoes hurt my feet in the same area. They were rubbing very badly on the ankles when I tried them on and walked gently around the house. Because of this significant discomfort, I did not want to take a chance and try to break them in outside and on the trail.

Great in heat or cold, wet or dry

I took these shoes with me to Isle Royale, Michigan for a week of hiking. We had sun, rain, heat and cold. I was impressed with how well these shoes gripped the rock surface when we were boldering in the rain. Despite some muddy areas, my feet never got wet. They were also great on the very root-ridden trails. These are my new favorite hiking shoes.

I have been an avid walker for years. I ordered these for my first hike. We hiked over 14 miles in moderate to rugged conditions and my feet/ankles felt awesome! No blisters or anything. Great support. This is coming from a person that has broken her ankles on several occations! The traction was great even in the wet conditions I hit.

This shoe is very good looking and comfortable except that the tongue is too long and with every step it jabbed me in the ankle. It's also in the narrow side of medium fit. I would have loved to have kept it for everyday running around.

Merrill is always tops in support, comfort and structural stability. And this hiking shoe just cries out "CUTE!" How can you not love pistacio green with hot orange and black! I wore them last weekend for a local hike and people couldn't stop commenting on how great they look, and later in the rain and my feet stayed totally dry. Could not be more pleased.
