Previously purchased this item in black in a larger size (11.5 B) They were a little long (I wear orthodics and order larger) and snug with my heavier winter socks. They were fine with a thin winter weight wool. I contacted Drew direct and some very nice people asked questions and then suggested going a whole size smaller 10.5, and a wider witdth (med). I ordered 10.5 M and just love them. I thought the shoe would be too short but I guess when you change widths the length is not always proportionate. The lasts are different to start. We take our shoes off at the door. I bought two pair of this shoe. I use one for going out and I have another that I keep for indoor use. That should tell you how comfy I find this shoe.

I have metatarsal area problem and diabetis. After taking the very comfortable and substanial insole out, I used my 3/4 orthotic and covered it with a thinner insole (which I always remove and have leftover) from my sneakers. This gave me more toe room as the forefoot section is shallower than most Drew shoes. After that the shoes were amazingly comfortable. Stretched a little to accomodate my wide foot and were able to be worn all day with no sore areas. I ordered 11.5 B when I normally order W width. Next time I will order 11 B as these seem alittle long. I put the beautiful thick insole that I had to remove, in my old ranger boots. They are too tight to use my orthotics in. Wonderful!! Now my feet love my old boots too!

Seems like a good supportive shoe. I usually buy 8B in dress shoes and up to 9B in athletic shoes. A 9B in these was very shallow and also very narrow on my left foot.. If you have thin (top to bottom) feet these would probably be ok. The left shoe was very tight even though my right foot is bigger than my left. Maybe it's just something with this pair. Based on this pair a wide shoe would be too wide for my right foot. This pair is going back.

I wear an orthopedic insert in one shoe and it fits perfectly. This is truly the most comfortable, best fitting shoe I have found. I immediately ordered the nubuck style.
