The reviews I read were great. However, I found the medium width to strangle my feet and it didn't help that the material was so stiff. I exchanged them for a wide width (although I have never worn a wide shoe in my life). After walking around my livingroom for several minutes I found that the wides did not feel comfortable at all and still left marks on my feet. Too bad because I really liked the look of the shoe.

Wore them everyday on a recent trip through Southeast Asia. They were perfect for long strolls in the temples, hikes up hills, submerges in the Mekong. Wore them all day in rough terrain and never had a problem. They are also very easy to clean, just threw them in the washing machine when I got home. Bought them as a present for a friend when I returned.

This is my 3rd pair of chaco's sandal. They have a great arch, comfortable and hold up well. Can throw into washer to clean. Adjusting straps make it fit anyone's foot.

My normal size is 7 but I ordered a size 6 after seeing they run large (if they came in have sizes then a 6 1/2 would fit perfect) the 6 does fit. I have had planter fasciitis so I need good arch support ( I wear supports in my sneakers and I do find mephisto's comfortable). The first day I wore these my arch's hurt but after that first day of breaking in they are great. very comfortable and easy to put on and off (first day take's some time to get the straps adjusted right, the straps were very tight to pull through). Once adjusted you don't have to worry about the straps anymore. The straps didn't rub anywhere and I didn't get any blisters from day one.

I wear Chaco sandals in all types of weather, and when it gets cold (plug your ears) I wear them with socks! Soon I will have my original pair re-soled for the second time; they are my favorite Nordic Walking shoes. I have one pair of leather Chaco sandals which are not as versitile, nor as comfortable as the others, but I do like my Chaco sandals!
