Wide is not wide

I've worn the leather Asics TR-180 siize 9 EE since it was the TR-150 model. It was the only shoe that provided enough support to keep plantar fasciitis at bay and was wide enough for my feet. This new streamlined version of the 180 looks quite nice and is less chunky than previous versions. However, the shoe is shorter than before and is much narrower. I ordered the shoes in the widest width, and have no choice but to return them. I'll be looking for another brand (probably New Balance) that makes supportive shoes in extra wide widths.

Good shoe for higher impact training

Athletic shoes are so hard to recommend so I'm just going to talk about how I've used these trainers and why they work for me. I have a very hard time finding athletic shoes that are not painful for me, let alone comfortable. I found this same style in a brick-and-mortar store, wore them out, and was pleased to find them in all black here. These are not cute sneakers. They are kind of gargantuan looking on. I wear an 8.5 in most sneakers, but always have to buy a 9 in Asics. Despite having to size up, they always fit well on my narrowish, but not technically narrow, feet. I can cinch these up nice and tight without cutting off circulation to my toes. I use these almost daily, mainly for circuit training, plyometrics, and high intensity aerobics. They provide great cushion and stability during jumping and lateral movements. I've been impressed with their lifespan, as I got a good 6 months of daily use out of my last pair before they began to feel worn down in the foot bed. For additional reference, I require decent arch support in my sneakers, generally prefer the fit of Adidas to Nikes (can't stand Nikes, actually), and do not have any pronation issues.

Great buy

I am a group fitness instructor (20+ years) and teach an average of 6-7 classes per week of different formats which include Bodystep and tabata where I need a good shoe with good support. I love this sneaker and it is my sneaker of choice for all of the classes I teach. I would never switch!

Officials best when it comes to volleyba

Great shoe. I wear it on a volleyball stand or on the floor that requires constant movement. Comfortable. I have plantar fasciitis so standing and movement cause pain. This pair of shoes have helped to ease the pain while I stand on the stand or move on the floor.
