At last, cute flats for my large, flexible, bunion-surgeried feet! Ahnu shoes are typically very accommodating in the toe box, and these are no exception. I'm always looking for a shoe in which I can slip my custom, rigid orthotics. Most all cute flats--patent and otherwise--are not deep enough to allow the orthotic AND stay on my foot. Have had no success until the Ahnu Jackie. These fit very nicely and are cute to boot. I typically wear a size 10.5, and that's one of the reasons I like the brand--as they offer 10.5 in most every Ahnu model. However, I originally ordered the 10.5 but had to exchange them for a size 10, as the Jackie is already generously-sized If you've worn Ahnus before, you already know the heel grip is often slightly canted forward to snug lightly against the heel tendon. The Jackie heel is no exception to this design feature. As such, you may wish to wear low cut socks or nude "footies" with this shoe, to avoid undesirable heel rub until you break them in (vs. no socks at all). Also, I have a screw in each foot at the base of the big toe as a result of bunion surgeries. From time-to-time, the top edge of the shoe slightly rubs across the instep on my right foot, mildly irritating the screw area. A thin sock helps. These shoes are very well made, and offer totally cute little details like a small floweret logo stitched in lavender! Have worn my Jackies for extended walking--with orthotics inside for support--and felt cute and comfortable the entire time. These shoes are cute with capri pants and pedal pushers. (Because they are patent, you may expect your feet to get a little hot.) I'll likely order another pair of these shoes in a different color.
