I wore these today on a 2.5 mile hike through mixed terrain including mud, rooty and rocky ground, uphill and down, and some pavement. Overall they were great. I have wide feet and wear orthotics and had to take the insoles out for the orthotics to fit inside. However the fit turned out to be quite good - no slippage or anything. The only thing I don't like about the shoes is that they look large on my feet and look a bit masculine.
