Motivation

good reasons to get up and run

There are many good reasons to run. However, there will always be days when you have to force yourself out the door. In those moments, just think about how good you will feel after a run, and remind yourself of the consequences of not going running. After all, running is medicine for your whole body, and here are some of the positives:

1. The brain:

Running doubles the oxygen supply to your brain, keeping you awake and thinking clearly. Running also increases your brain metabolism, which leads to an increase in learning capacity and creativity.

2. Immune system:

Running increases the body's immune system, which leads to a better resistance against many infections and lowers the risk of cancer.

3. The muscles:

Running increases the number of mitochondria, the power plants of the muscle, which improves muscle metabolism. New vessels grow within the muscle to improve blood supply.

4. Heart and circulation:

The heart gets stronger and more powerful. The resting heart rate decreases and the heart's ability to recover from stress improves. The viscosity of the blood is reduced along with the blood pressure. Running has the same effect as a mild anti-hypertensive medication. In addition, blood fat, including cholesterol, declines.

5. The lungs:

Lungs get more powerful. Ventilation and blood circulation through the lungs improve. The whole body is flushed with oxygen.

Is anyone motivated to run?
