Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
It took two days to break in these shoes and I have been wearing them for at least 6 months, 13 hour shifts, 3 days/week. Most would be cracking where they bend but not these. I am a 57 year old nurse and I need comfortable shoes that hold up. There is not a lot of padding or cushioning in the sole but it doesn't bother me.
