i really wanted to love these shoes. i have had my eye on them for years and finally bought a pair this summer because i wanted something more breathable/open than my Keens and more supportive than Teva flip-flops. i have always heard that these shoes are extremely comfortable. but i have to compare them to my Keen Newport H2s, and the Chacos are way less comfortable. they're really heavy - i think this is the main problem. if i wear them all day, my feet are tired and i can't wait to get them off. the toe strap also tightens up a bit on its own during use, which is annoying. i've washed them several times with a load of laundry, and that did help with the straps tightening, but not completely. the Z/2s allow you to pull the toe strap all the way through the sole of the shoe so that you can wear the sandals w/o the toe strap, but the double-strap design of this shoe (while very cute) doesn't allow you to do that, which makes them less versatile. i still wear these shoes a couple times a week and get compliments on them, but i don't think i would recommend them to someone else and i wouldn't buy them again. i also prefer my Keens for canoeing/kayaking because of the rubber toe bumpers.
This is a great sandal. It looks great with casual wear but suit the right skirt. I have had tons of compliments when wearing them. They are sturdy and have a good arch support. my only complaint would be that sometimes the straps seem to tighten around the toe. there isn't much give to the straps. If the straps would have just a little bit of elasticity they would be perfect.
I ordered these for my 10 year old daughter. She loves them & wears them all the time. Her school dress code requires that all shoes have a back strap. These are perfect, she can wear them all day in comfort. The adjustable straps are a huge part of that. She has gone everywhere in them, from school to mountain streams, running and walking, and never complained of any discomfort.
I was so so so excited to finally buy these sandals! I had been looking at them for over a year before I finally felt comfortable in spending the almost $100 on them. However, after all of my excitement I was left sadly disappointed. I bought these in a women's size 9, which is my standard shoe size. I do have slightly wide feet, but could not find them available in a wide. I tried them on in the store and after adjusting them to my liking and feeling good about them, I made the big purchase. I wore them all around my house for the rest of the day. The straps just would not stay the way that I would adjust them and I had to keep readjusting them, especially around my big toe. I literally felt like my big toe was being strangled and it actually was turning pink and purple. I just could not get the straps to stay in a comfortable position! I wanted to like these sandals SO badly, but am forced to return them because they are just NOT comfortable on my feet!!
These were for my daughter who has several pairs of chacos...she absolutely loves them! Very durable and she wears them with everything!!
I love these shoes, the only issue i have with them is the straps are all one continuous strap so if you tighten or pull the strap around your ankle, the toe strap tightens also. But, i still love them.
I love these shoes. I now have them in two colors. (Would have them in every color if my budget would allow for it).
Flip flops give me shin splints because of the lack of support. I thought I might not be able to wear sandles at all until I discovered chacos. Great arch support! I wear them all the time.
The double strap makes them look a little dressier, and the wrap around toe gives more support to the shoe.
As an avid exerciser, I have a few aches and pains! These shoes have relieved all pains in my feet and even my back and knees. I slip them on first thing in the morning and generally wear them everday - I now have an assortment of colors! I recommend them to everyone! The strap system does take a few days to adjust to your foot when you get a new pair. But once you've got the straps worked out, the shoes are amazing!
Chacos are very popular with my child's school friends. She was very excited to get these. [...]
These are the cutest sandals and for the most part, close to the most comfortable I have ever worn. However, I am not a big fan of thongs (I've only found one pair--years ago-- that don't rip the insides of my toes apart), but thought these would be different because of the rest of the construction. The thong part on these Chacos isn't any different, and my big and long toes were virtually in shreds during a 10-day trip in Mexico. I've decided to order a different style without a thong this year because overall there is nothing better than Chaco. If you like thong sandals, these are great and super cute.
Many of my friends have Chacos and love them, so I found these on sale. I like them a lot, and have been able to walk in them a lot further than other sandals that I own. Somedays, I'm not a fan of the strap around the toes. It took a while for me to get the straps adjusted to fit me the way I wanted and I still have problems with the heel strap being a little lose. It is nice that the straps can be adjusted to fit the individual. I will probably buy more of these sandals.
The nurse at my docotor's had on a pair of these & I aked her about them. She couldn't have had a more glowing recommendation. Got my curiosity up! I wanted something that was trendy, pretty & would still give plenty of support to my diabetic feet!
I did a little research, online shoes had my size & the rest as they say is history. I will just add that one review that I read suggested ordering a half size smaller--GREAT advice. These shoes look wonderful, hold up to cement floors & can handle the occaisional off the road walking adventure! I highly recommend them.
They are well made, & while may seem a bit pricey so far are holding their own to my hard treatment!:O)
This is one of the best shoes I have ever bought! I wear an 8.5 so I bought a 9. The footbed is only slightly longer than my foot but the easily adjustable straps make it a non-issue. If I had bought the 8 it would have been too small though. I do a lot of outdoor sports and this is the best all around shoe for it. I wear them in my kayak & canoe and am so pleased with the Vibram sole. It really sticks in slippery conditions. I know they are pricey but they are worth every penny. And you have them resoled which makes a them sound investment.
Overall great shoes, I am very impressed with these shoes. The arch support is excellent (that is why I bought them).
The one thing I am not wild about on the shoes is when they tighten up (one strap tightens up the entire shoe which is nice) there ends up being too much strap draging on the floor for me. I do not want to cut them as the strap may fray... try them on in a store before buying online.
They also are a bit slippery on wet cement/surfaces. This suprised me, as I was not expecting them to be slippery at all since they are for outdoor use and hiking...
I wear mine for work in a wet outdoor environment, I would recommend them to others...
A most comfortable shoe that hugs your foot so perfectly that you can wear it all day, from the minute you take them out of the box, without any discomfort. This is my second pair, and while my first pair are still like new, I bought this pair because I wanted another color. The only drawback to these sandals is the extra long strap that goes around the ankle; the end drags on the ground once they're fastened, and I'm worried that if I cut it, I won't have enough strap left to adjust them properly.
