It only took a couple of days to break in the shoe. I love them. I'm going to buy a second pair. It really does feel like I'm walking on a cushion of air. I also like the arch support.

I do a lot of hiking in the Caribbean, especially St. Kitts, ranging from walking sandy beaches to climbing slippery and uneven rainforest trails.
I've worn Rockports for more than 25 years and have never been disappointed. And after a day of hiking the shoes are perfectly appropriate for upscale dining.

I owned a pair of Rockports and wore them out. It was time for a replacement which ended up being 2 pairs of the Rockport Encounter shoes. Great shoes, that's all I wear at work and when I'm going out with the wife. I walk on concrete floors all day and the Rockport Encounter is the perfect shoe for that. Very comfortable and stablizes my feet. They feel great on my feet.
Now I feel like I'm walking on air!

I walk through a lot of airports while traveling on business. When I get to my destination I spend a lot of time on concrete floors. The Rockport Encounter shoes were comfortable the first time I put them on, I bought 2 pairs. They are stable holding my feet in the proper position. I have arthritis in both feet but my Rockport Encounter shoes keep my feet warm relieving the discomfort from arthritis.

I work in retail, so I stand and walk all day. These shoes are perfect, they are very comfortable. The shoes felt like they were made for my foot. They never felt new, even the first day. I did not have to break the shoes in. Prefect!

I have had to put inserts into all my shoes due to Planter Fasciitis. The minute I put on these shoes my feet have being feeling GREAT. I have not used the inserts since!! Also I would wakeup in the middle of the night screaming from very bad ' leg cramps" This has also completely stopped. I just purchased a send pair of these shoes. I am a customer for life!!!!

Need more comfortable black walking shoes with DMX technology. Those of us who have bad backs need great support and a good causal look.
The break in time for this shoe is extended for me. I would prefer it felt broken in immediately.
