I use these shoes for everything. I live in casual So. CA, so these shoes can be worn almost all year and everywhere. I have also traveled with them. Comfortable and stylish too.
I enjoy these hiking sandals. They are very durable, comfortable in the footbed, and give my foot plenty of room. The only draw back is that it does take some time to adjust the straps to fit your foot comfortably. I still adjust it every once in a while, but the ability to adjust it easily can be an advantage. I used to wear foam footbed flip flops all the time, however I found them to eventually become uncomfortable. These sandals are a great alternative!
i use my chacos for casual hiking and walking around town. they're really comfortable and stay on your foot very well, but the strap is adjustable and gets very tight on the toe.
These are some of the most supportive, well-fitting sandals available. They give good arch support and you can walk in them all day without your feet and legs hurting. And if they get dirty, just hand wash them and rinse well with cool water and let dry. The straps adust for a perfect fit to your foot.
These sandals are very comfortable! I had a hard time adjusting the straps - they felt too narrow. I finally gave them to my mom and she loves them! They offer great support and they look great with most anything!
[...] I definetly will buy more shoes from Onlineshoes.com. I wear these sandal everywhere, to work, run errands, and to work in the yard. I just am having problems getting the adjustments to stay put.
I have a problem with swelling in my feet while traveling or while sitting for long periods of time. With the adjustable straps, I am able to wear the shoes, with a slight adjustment, at any leisure function I will be attending.
With the high arch support, I do not have problems with backache when I wear the shoes. They are stylish and trendy also.
I ordered theses shoes in a size 6 and had to return for one size up. Once you get the correct size and get the straps adjusted correctly your going to love these shoes. I have an old leg injury which usually leads me to buy many pairs of different shoes. One pair may be comfortable one day and the next make my leg hurt like crazy. I'm sure these will be come one of my favorite.
I like the ease that you can slip in and out of them. They can be rinsed off so they work well for water sports.
Once you adjust the straps for your foot there is no rubbing. I like the heel position and I find that they are very easy to wear and walk long distance in without feeling like you are struggling to keep them on- the toe loop helps with that also.
Love them- have 2 pair and they are always my first choice to wear
I usually wear an 8 or 8.5, but these sandals don't come in half sizes, so I ordered a size 9 in Skye (blue)- and I certainly don't regret it! I have high arches and somewhat wide feet. I'm still breaking them in (my big toe is a little strangled) but I'm very satisfied with the arch support and heel comfort that one wouldn't find in other sandals. They are very cute and go with just about everything I wear. A friend of mine introduced me to Chacos and I swear by them; I've had a four-year-old pair of black Z/1's that were sadly chewed by the dog, but hopefully these will be my next Chaco best friends. It does feel a little strange without a heel strap, but I can put them on easier. I hike, camp, and fish a lot and I plan to do so with these.
I love these shoes! I would wear them everywhere if I could. Unfortunately my job requires hose and heels, but as soon as I'm home, I'm in my Zongs. I don't know why I waited so long to get some.
Very snazzy color goes with denim. Arch support in a sandal is rare.
Unusual strap system allows one to make an individual fitting adjustment. Pricey but worth it.
[...]wear them in the garden, take them when I travel. very comfortable, great support.
This stype of Chaco is a great shoe with good arch support. But it does take time and patience to figure out how to adjust the sandals so that they fit just right. Once adjusted, they feel really comfortable and boy do they look good!
Now do not get me wrong, I love chacos-just not this style for my feet. I normally wear a 9 in chacos and that is what I ordered in this style. The straps are too thin and they just did not feel secure on my feet without the back strap. I did order another pair of the Chaco Z/2 Unaweep Sole in green and love them. I even got a coworker to fall in love with these shoes!!! If your feet are narrow you willl love this shoe. If your feet are slightly wide, then go with the thicker straps! thanks
I wore one pair of chacos for 7 years and they still only look a year old. This new pair is a different design and color but I still love them and look forward to many more spring and summers in chacos. Wonderful arch support and great with the kiddos, too!
I read the reviews before purchasing these shoes, and so was specifically concerned with adjusting for fit. I'd say the only way these shoes wouldn't fit properly is if you don't give yourself enough time to adjust them. I wore them around the house for indoor stuff a couple of days and so was able to fine-tune the straps. At this point (after two days -- on and off wear), they feel great! I had bunion surgery 2 years ago and so adjustable is definitely the way to go. Be patient with them, but once you get the fit right, they are a great find for comfort, support, and versatility.
It takes a while to get the strings right but when that is done, they are just comfy and cute. Love them.
This is my second pair of Chacos. I've had my first pair (Hipthongs) for 3 years and they still look new. I get many compliments on my Chacos and people are always asking me what brand I'm wearing. The key to comfort is getting the adjustment correct. It takes some fiddling with, but once you figure out how to do it, they feel great. I don't think they will ever wear out!
The straps are VERY difficult to adjust to the perfect fit. When I thought I had it perfect I found my foot slipping out of them slightly, mainly because of the toe design. I don't recommend these for hiking because you'll have to consciously try to keep your foot in the shoe. I'm exchanging them for the Chaco Hipthong(Pebble), hoping they'll work better. Also, I'm worried the color will get dirtly. I bought the Chaco Zong in Illusion and it was already stained a slight yellow on one of the straps when it arrived. I do not have a wide foot. I may even have a slightly narrow foot, but the shoe seemed slightly too narrow for my feet. I think it may be the design of the straps. It seemed to be trying to force my foot towards an inward curve. I'm hoping the Hipthong doesn't have these issues because these are the cutest sport sandles.
I usually wear a size 8.5 or 9, but when I ordered the size 9, I had to send them back and get a size 10. They are very comfortable and cute. My boyfriend and I raft in Costa Rica and he has owned his pair for a couple of years now so I decided to purchase them. There is no need to have a back strap if you don't want one - these stay on very well.
Too much weight in the sole to be comfortable for more than just slipping on to go to the pool.
This shoe is so cute! I love the arch support that Chaco provides.
Facts:
Under review is my Chaco Hipthong, in Peony pink.
I'm a 6.5 true to size, narrow to medium width foot. The size 6 was too short and narrow. Therefore uncomfortable. The size 7 fit perfectly in length and width, as though it were a true 6.5. So no complaints. My theory - it runs about 1/2 size smaller.
I'm South-Asian, with tan skin. The Peony was several shades lighter than my skin tone; it was very feminine and flattering.
The straps required minor adjustments. Read the directions, or you're wasting your time. I found the best "setting" was an overall roomier fit. Resist the urge to "strap-in" your foot, as thought it should hug your feet -- That's uncomfortable, because the straps are powerful and have no give. Keeping it a bit loose, is more comfortable.
The arch felt really high at first and rather uncomfortable. There's a definite break-in period. Within a couple days it felt completely natural and entirely unnoticeable.
The test:
For a 10-day trip to a resort in the Riviera Maya in Mexico, I took these Chaco's for the resort & beach, and also packed my trusty, Teva sandals, for heavy-duty sight-seeing. Guess what?! I only wore my Chaco's every single day. These babies saw sandy beaches, tiled patios, pebbly rivers, slippery caves, Mayan ruins, water theme parks, and even made it to evening dinners (my sexy heels were hazardous on resort tiles, and these were pretty feminine for sport shoes). I never got tired of all the walking.
I love my Teva's dearly. However, the Chacos were equally comfortable and had the advantage of being quick slide-offs for water activities.
The comfort does decline slightly when wet. Roominess helps.
While flying back, I packed the Chaco Hipthong in my carry-on luggage. I didn't want them getting lost! What's that say to you? :-)
These shoes really stay on even though there is no heel strap. They are extremely comfortable and can be rinsed off after wear.
These take a little time to break in so the strap doesn't cause blisters, but after that they are awesome.
I have a weakness in my ankles and find chakos too heavy when doing a lot of walking. For everyday use they are great. Lots of people have stopped me to ask about my shoes.
The adjustable straps take constant adjustment. I still haven't gotten these shoes right. The strap keeps strangling my big toe. Not a perfect summer sandal, in my opinion, but they do look cool.
I JUST LOVE THESE SANDALS THEY HOLD YOU FOOT IN PLACE.
YOU THINK WITH THE STRAPS YOU FOOT WOULD FEEL LOOSE BUT IF YOU HAVE THE STRAPS ADJUSTED RIGHT THEY ARE GREAT
[...] is great, ordered a similar shoe, hated it, returned it and exchanged it for this shoe, hated it as well. Didn't bother returning it because I will wear it occasionally,it's just not the comfortable shoe that everyone says that it is.
The adjustable strap makes this shoe extremely comfortable. I can walk on it all day and my feet don't hurt because of the great arch support. I've got 2 pair!
