I had been wearing the same pair of Tevas from 10 years ago (the classic Teva sandal) before these, and the Karnali Wraptor definitely goes beyond my expectations in terms of looks and, equally as importantly, comfort. The more I wear them and look at them, the more I just love them. They are the kind of shoes that aren't for everyone though--the toe cap construction reminds me of a hoof and the strap configuration and the fact that your little toes are exposed can be strange to a lot of people. But that's exactly why I think that these shoes are so cool. I have to wear comfortable shoes but there are no other ones I would wear but Tevas, including the Karnali Wraptors.
I am a 8 1/2 M and I went with the 8. They're pretty much true to length and width; you just have play around with the straps to get it where your foot is comfortable. The arch is high (I have flat feet) but they're not nearly as high as Birkenstocks (which I did not like wearing for that reason). They keep your feet cool but covered at the same time. I haven't tested these out in the water. But on dry land, I feel like I can pretty much go anywhere! And thumbs up on the Flinestone color, which is in line with "color" but very muted and easy to wear!
Compaired to an earlier water shoe from Teva, there are many improvments with this model. It's easy to put on and the traction is very good.
