No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I bought them to wear to show in Vegas. I could not fasten strap (it would not go around ankle). I tore straps off but then they blistered my toes and top of feet.
I needed to have a great pair of shoes so I tried to modify them. I knew I could not return them so I threw them away and bought a different pair in Vegas.
Please understand, I am very happy with the other shoes I have ordered...this pair just didn;t work.
