I had the backless version of this shoe last year. It cut across the middle top of my foot in a painful way. I am a great fan--and frequent wearer of Merrell shoes in many styles. I have to say that THIS style is exceedingly comfortable, and that I get compliments whenever I wear this shoe, even though I wear them more for comfort than for style.

These shoes are the best. I own 11 pair and am still looking to buy more. They wear forever, but I like the different colors and styles to match what I am wearing. Because I had to have reconstruction surgery on my right foot which included an implant, I find that the only comfortable shoes for me are the Merrels. I am on my feet a lot at work and need that support and comfort. Plus I have to have both knees replaced and the shoes offer the kind of support that does not cause strain to my knees.
