I like these boots but am hoping they become easier to pull on and that the top edge of the boot softens up a bit. I wish I didn't have to break them in.

These boots are so warm, that a Minnesota winter well below zero doesn't affect them. It is so light weight that I can wear them to the mall and walk around for hours without fatigue. It has the arch support of a well-designed ergonomic shoe. I did order a 1/2 size bigger than my shoe size as I usually do with boots, but Keen has such a roomy toe area that they are a little loose. I would recommend buying true to your shoe size unless you have very wide feet.

These boots are great! I absolutely love the red ones.
I've had lots of foot trouble and surgeries over the years Keens are great on my feet. Keen Dakota boots are so light and warm I even wear them on days when the Denver cold is inside as well as out.
These boots are wonderful for all those quick trips out with the dogs, I can just pull them on and we're OFF!

I LOVE Keens, but these boots were a disappointment. I ordered
my size, then ordered a size smaller, not realizing it was the too
wide proportion that was the problem!

i'm outside a lot for work, and these boots keep my feet warm in very cold weather without the need of thick socks, and they look good. only problem is, after a few days the top of the boot irritated the skin on my calf from rubbing. be sure to wear tall socks!

I bought this boot a half size bigger because I knew I would need a little extra room for my winter socks. I like Keens because they are comfortable and roomy enough for my wide feet. My ankle picks up a bit when I walk, and so I have to be careful when wearing short socks, as they usually start to slouch as my sock pulls against the back of the shoe. But that is a normal problem with all boots that don't have laces to give a snug fit.
I would recommend this boot to everyone for comfort and/or style but I was very disappointed that it's not really waterproof. Your foot stays warm most of the time, just don't let the snow melt!
Also, the leather upper has already started to show some wear under the salty snow conditions of central New York. I think I may need to spray these boots with something to preserve them and improve the water resistant qualities.
The zipper is a bit annoying because the part you pull gets a little crooked and makes it stick sometimes, but I still prefer that in the snow to tying up a lot of laces. In times of desperation I can also pull these off without unzipping. I like the loop on the back that helps you pull the boots on, and I also like the reflective material on the back even though no one can see it through my jeans.
The little elastic drawstring at the top is useless, just as I suspected.

I wore these boots in 26 degree weather and my feet were nice and warm. I have a very high instep so I can get very few boots on my feet. I took a chance ordering these online and I had no problems getting the boots on or wearing them comfortably. The red color is great too!

I loved the boot but it runs small. [...]. I normally wear a 7 1/2 to a 8. In the keen footwear I need an 8 1/2 to a 9.

Whenever I wear these boots I have people stop and ask "where did you get those boot"? The best part is that you can walk for miles in them and not feel like you're wearing a "winter" boot.
