These are great, comfortable light hikers/hiking tennis shoes that breathe in hot weather. The description is inaccurate....these were made to be non-waterproof (They're MESH for God's sake). They will dry fast if wet, though.
I have about 6 pairs of Merrell shoes. They fit beautifully and wear for a very long time. And some of them I have had for years.
The Ventilator line is perfect for our hot weather in Arizona. Great for day hikes.
The Merrell boot is exactly what I need for walking the dog and hiking on trails. Have not tried them yet on climbing, but Merrell always mets the challenge
I don't know if it's the Vibram sole, or the construction of the boot, or both, but I don't have the leg pain issues I had with the old, lower tech Merrell (REI) boots I used to wear. I can feel things through the bottom more easily, but it hasn't been a problem yet. I like the light weight, but the flexibility may have a down side, as I recently started noticing a bit of wearing on the top of my big toe where it seems to be bending. Overall, I like them and they look neat. I was surprised at how small they run though--at least a half size.
More of a high top athletic shoe than a boot--but just what I was looking for--more ankle support but still have the Q Form sole. Lightweight and comfortable from the time I put them on.
