I was able to wear these for long walks around town right out of the box. I've been buying Merrells for years and am always so happy with them. I have wide feet and love that these boots give me plenty of room, even for chunky socks. Love them!

I wear these boots when tracking my dogs. We track in any weather, through harsh terrain and in tall wet grass. I have not found a pair of lace booth that will keep my socks completely dry, maybe because wet pants act as a wick but for me these boots are not 100% waterproof. In order to stay dry I wear Crocodiles over them when the grass is tall and wet or the snow is ankle deep. I have purchased two pair of these boots (just in case my feet get wet) because they are very comfortable and slip proof.

Merrell's are great shoes for me, here's a couple reasons why:
Merrell's standard medium width is a bit wider than others. Example I like TNF shoes but their standard medium width is just to narrow.
Merrell's quality is excellent through expected life of their shoes. I have had 7 pairs of different models of the past 5 years. And I have had no troubles with stitching, waterproofness, sole breakdown, etc.
And most models handle a high volume foot comfortably. Besides having a wider than normal foot, I also have a high top foot. So boots and shoes that really "swoop" down from the front of the ankle to the toe really bite into the top of my foot when laced up.
Not for people with Morton's toe

If your second toe is long, a boot with a rubber toe cap is going to hurt. Couldn't see that in the on-line photo.

This shoe lasts about 3 months of everyday use on concrete. This is good considering concrete beats the heck out of your foot wear.

I like everything about the shoe, except how it fit my ankle. I have ordered a similar par that is not mid-ankle.

These are great - love the look, the traction, etc. I just wish I had ordered a half size larger since they hurt my toes a little after walking a lot in them. Otherwise they are great.

I'm very happy with these shoes. I needed stability and comfort for walking/hiking and they provide both. They are waterproof and great in the rain. I was pleased that Merrell's sizes ran true, I have small feet (a women's size 5) and these fit perfectly with both room for thicker type hiking socks and thinner athletic type socks. I would buy shoes from this brand again.
This is a fantastic shoe.

There is not one thing I don't like about the shoes. The Merrells are made very well and I hope to buy another pair after these are worn out. I am also glad there is a place to order from and get the color and the shoe you want. Thank you.
