I work in a store that has no padding under the carpets just concrete. I am on my feet for hours daily. While I have had these shoes only a short time, so far I am loving them. They are comfortable, provide support and work very well for me.

The shoes feel great on the trail. The insole helps to prevent my foot from sliding forward and jamming my toes when hiking downhill. Good tread for traction.

A very comfortable hiking/walking shoe that is not a white sneaker. This is a lot of fun to wear and wears well, with great arch support to help prevent heel pain.

I have worn the same size in New Balance shoes for years and love them. I had hoped that this would provide me with a shoe that would be appropriately worn in more places than my clunky white 1122s. Unfortunately, this shoe's fit was NOTHING like the 1122s. Still looking. . .

Fit perfect straight from the box. Comfortable beyond belief! I have had problems with heel pain with many types of shoes and the pain has disappeared since I started to wearing these daily. I love them for walking, yard work, and doing everyday chores. I plan on purchasing more of these in the future just so I never run out!

This shoe feels especially cushiony in the sole. There is also extra padding around the ankle which makes the shoe look a little fat but makes it feel great. I normally wear a wide width and the D width in this shoe feels good. The fit feels best with thin to normal weight socks. I found that anything thicker makes the shoe feel too short. Beware using this shoe on paths with larger rocks since you can feel those rocks through the soft sole. Overall a terrific, cushioned walking shoe. (Note that the color shown for the womens shoe is actually the darker brown offered for the mens version. The womens shoe is a light tan/brown.)

Shoe is extremely light feeling yet very supportive and durable. Doesn't have that "clunky" feeling that some heavey treaded shoes have. More attractive than pictured. Looks good with jeans or khaki type pants. I would highly recommend. New Balance hasn't let me down yet!

Ordered this shoe in an 11N - my normal size and it fits perfectly. The shoe is very stable and has good cushioning. It also accomodates my arch supports. The tongue does not come up too far onto the ankle and is comfortable right out of the box. The lacing area seems a little wide, but I guess that's the way the shoe is designed. I plan to use this shoe for my daily walking routing.

My previous pair of New Balance walkers finally needed replacing after two years of lots and lots and lots of walking. Mind you, technically the walkers were still walking just fine, they just looked a little over the edge of sad heading into pathetic. I travel a considerable amount, and with an upcoming trip to Germany, I wanted to do my feet a favor and buy them a nice new pair of shoes that looked as good as they felt. I liked the look of the New Balance 748 Outdoor Walking Shoe, and already sold on the New Balance name, I took the online shoe plunge. These walkers fit perfectly right off the bat. Absolutely no break-in period necessary. Wore them for three days straight right out of the box, waiting for something to hurt here or rub wrong there. Nope. They got dubbed proper travelers. So now I, my feet, and my walkers are back from walking around Germany for two weeks. My shoulders are a bit sore from the daypack, my knee still smarts a bit from, um, basically not watching where I was going, and I still have a bit of a crick in the neck from the eternal flight home... but my feet feel great. Oh, and the walkers still look perfectly lovely as well.

The entire line of new balance have a wonderful find for me. I wear a 10 1/2 D and have trouble finding women's footwear that is stylish and have a good support for high arches. New Balance does both. I can wear them for a full work day or night out right out of the box. I no longer have to "break in" the new shoes.

the shoe is comfortable on the foot, but the ankle is very high and because the tongue is attached at the sides, it is very thick around the ankle. if this doesn't bother you, then the shoe is excellent

Having had three surgeries on one foot, this shoe gives me the support and comfort that I need. As with other New Balance shoes that I've had in the past, they have the same quality and comfort that lasts longer than other manufacturers.
