Great shoes that fits for casual work AND is warm and practical on the bus. No need to carry around extra shoes for work. However, one of the side bands took a long time to break in. I think the stitching was off and it rubbed into my little toe. It wasn't a problem until it was too late to return the boots so I was stuck with them. Might have just been that one pair.... My other Merrells have never been a problem.
I would buy this shoe again.

I purchased these shoes for an upcoming trip and I have tried to "break them in" on four different occasions. Each time I have ended up with blisters. I am reluctant to take them on my trip. I own so many other Merrell shoes which are comfortable and these just aren't the same.

I do not own many pairs of shoes, so the ones I own must suit various purposes. I do a moderate amount of walking and occasional light hiking. These shoes are suitable for short or long strolls. I have not taken them off-road yet.
I was glad that I took the advice of others and got these an extra 1/2 size bigger.

I bought this shoe to go hiking in Colorado. I bought it early to wear it in and make sure it would not cause any blisters. After wearing it one day--I loved it. They did not hurt my feet, were really comfortable to walk in and they go great with jeans. Now, I wear them all the time. They are great in cold weather, they have very good traction and are stylish enough for me to wear to work. I have several paris of Merrells and I love them all, but this pair is my favorite. I would definitely buy it again.

When I first received this product I was underwhelmed. I tried them around the house and wasn't impressed with the weight and the support, though they were exactly that "winter/rugged sneaker" look I was after. I made the mistake of cooking dinner in them and got a little pasta sauce on one, so now they were mine no matter what. I put them on one day to walk my son to school and these shoes shined in a way they hadn't while I was standing around in them. These are great active shoes! The cushioning, especially in the heal, is fantastic. The weight is perfect and the almost non-existent arch support ceased to be an issue, though I probably will replace the insoles with something with more arch. My feet were warm, but not hot. That was 3 hours ago and I can't bring myself to take them off despite our "no shoes in the house policy". Shhh. Don't tell my son. By the way, do wear these with medium weight socks. They just feel better.

This is my second pair of sirens, my first pair being a ventilator which I wore all spring and summer long. Love these shoes and will continue to buy this shoe as long as they are made. My next pair will be the gore-tex for the winter.
I use them for long day hikes with a full day pack on very rugged terrain. I wear them in the same size as my running shoes (length.) My feet are a bit narrow (I wear narrow running shoes) but I can wear the Sirens without the heal slipping in a medium width.

This is a very nice stable lightweight hiking shoe. I recommend the entire Siren line for this purpose... the mesh version weighs only 1lb and feel like you have nothing on your feet. This is particularly important for me as I have knee problems and tire easily when I am wearing heavy shoes. The arch support doesn't seem as good as typical Merrells so I may invest in an alternal insert. These seem true to size; I wear a 9 or 9-1/2 and needed the 9-1/2 in these shoes to give me room for a hiking sock. I have tried on a lot of similar hiking shoes and these are the ones that are perfect for me.
