This shoe is "out of the box" comfortable. I wore the shoes for a full day of sightseeing and deep sea fishing... not one complaint!
Pulling the shoe on and taking the it off proved to be somewhat challenging.
Overall I give this shoe two big thumbs up!

I was excited when I fist saw the shoes, but dissapointed that they did not fit. I rated them 3 stars because I did not get to wear them since I sent them back, so the 3 stars are ment to show I have a neutral oppinion of them. I have bought Merrell shoes for years, and am a great fan of the shoes, but they must have changed thier fit within the last 2yrs. The shoes were too short in length; felt about a half size too small. Thery were also very wide for a women's shoe. When I used the elastic cord to tighten them, a feature I love on an older pair of Merrells I own, the shoe still remained loose. I also felt the cord was too long once tightened. Dispite the fact the shoes didn't fit, I liked the overall appearance, they seemed they would hold up fairly well, and I liked the easy slip-on design. Although I cannot recomend them with any personal wear experiance, I would not recomend against them. If you fit Merrel's now, or have a slightly wider foot, I would deffinatly try them.

My husband and I bought the Chameleon II by Merrell to hike Half Dome in Yosemite. The hike took 13 hours, and our feet never hurt once. Since then, we both have multiple pairs of the Chameleon because they fit so well, and they are truly the most comfortable shoe we've ever purchased. We've had our first pair for several years, which we wear often, and they still look in great shape- they're worth every penny. We love the fact that there are no laces- you just slip in and pull the band. I love the style, too, because it is a hiking shoe that doesn't look so masculine. Great shoe!

I have 2 pairs of this shoe, one for everyday and one for work. I have orthotics that I insert and I have found this is one of the best shoes for that because it comes up high enough around my heel so I don't step out of the shoe like I do with most others. This shoe is extremely comfortable, durable and excellent for proper foot alignment which aides total body alignment. I also like the way it looks, it has the cinch lace which adds to it's secure feeling. I can't think of a negative aspect to this shoe, my only hope is that they never discontinue it as that would be a huge loss. I strongly recommend this shoe for anyone who is active and requires good support.

These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned! They are durable and water resistant while being sporty. Look great with jeans! The slip on feature was what I was really looking for in an all weather shoe, and I'm not disappointed with my choice at all. They are easy on & easy off so you can kick them off at the door after traipsing through the mucky snow & sticky gravel or mud. I bought them for a trip to Colorado but couldn't wait to slip them on & I've found many excuses to wear them again and again even though I'd planned to save them. You have to break them in, right?! (Actually, I haven't felt that these shoes even need "breaking in" because the gel-like cuff around the ankle which makes them easy on and easy off is so extremely comfortable and form fitting that they came out of the box "broken in".) Great shoe - I'd definitely buy another pair!

My first pair was for use as an everyday alternative to a gym shoe. I loved the idea that it didn't need tying, like so many of my kids shoes.
The shoes are comfy right out of the box, lightweight and wear well.
My second pair was purchased about a year later, as the soles were starting to wear, and I needed a good walking shoe for a tour of China. From keeping my feet warm in the cold weather of Chicago to breathing in the heat of China, the shoes did not disappoint! Now I'm on my third pair, I'm glad Merrell is still making them 3+ years later.

When I first got these I wasn't too sure about them. But the more I wear them, the better they get! It's almost like they adjust to your feet and how you walk. They just keep getting more comfortable! I'm thinking of getting more in different colors. The only thing I've found wrong so far is that the slide locks on the laces stick.

Bought these to wear as casual winter shoes but I'll be wearing them all year round. For a slip on shoe they stay put really well. Feels like its a little wide but for a casual shoe that adds to the comfort. I have several different styles of merrell shoes. They are not a shoe that requires "breaking in". They are great from the first time out of the box.

This is a great shoe if you love the Outdoors. I use it for traveling, mountainbiking and hiking, even riding a motorcycle. The sole is great on different terrain. Wear it in cold or even warm weather or rain. Your feet stay warm. I usually wear a size 9. The shoe seemed to be a bit big for its size. It would be almost better to have a regular tying system. In all this is a great shoe for me I can use when I travel or do outdoor sports. It's a good investment - not too stylish - the choice of other colors might be an option and reach more style oriented women.
