When will athletic shoe makers begin to include a rubber cord in the shoe strings so that the knots won't come undone?

By Love to hike Zion from Las Vegas, NV on 8/13/2008
Pros:
Easy On and Off, Good Traction
Cons:
Wear Out Quickly
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

These shoes lasted less than two hikes in Zion before they fell apart!! The straps holding the laces frayed and tore through after less than 23 miles of total use!!!! I would NOT RECOMMEND these shoes for anything more than walking on wet concrete--they are certainly NOT for anything outdoors.

Boy, do I love these shoes! So much that I just bought another pair to keep for later use. My family just went to several locations in the Caribbean and Central America. I wore these shoes snorkeling in Honduras and Cozumel. Wore them to Sting Ray City in the Cayman Islands, and wore them on a three mile jungle hike through the rain forest in Belize and then cave tubing. The Waterpro Maipo's have held up perfectly. I wore them at times with socks and at times without. They are extremely comfortable and light. No break-in required and no blisters or any sore spots at all. They can be a walking shoe, hiking shoe, running shoe, and water shoe. They’re so light and comfy, I wear them pretty much every day now. Excellent purchase.

Pros:
Durable, Easy On and Off, Good Traction
Best Uses:
Boating, General working out
Describe Yourself:

I oriignally bought the shoe for swimming and water sports in lakes and rivers, but having had the product only two months I'm using it already for general working out. Its terrific...light weight and comfortable to wear. The easiest to get on an off. Having the extra ventilation keeps my feet dry of perspiration. I discovered that I will be able to use them for alot of exercising and sports I hadn't anticipated.
