I use these for casual use and trail and road running. More like the great 808 and much better than the 809. They aren't real heavy but are still durable and comfortable.

Greetings. I am a supinator (I do not pronate) and thus the New Balance MR810 trail shoe works great for me. I do not need Motion Control or Stability shoes, and the MR810 provides all that I need which is Cushioning. The MR810 is listed as a Cushioning shoe. What I like most is the outsole and traction. The tread is just soft enough to grip the terrain, yet seems hard enough to provide plenty of miles of running. For cold weather running, I suggest buying a wider size than your normal foot so that you can wear thick socks---this is because the toebox of the MR810 breathes very well and it can get cold in colder weather. The toebox breathes so well, that I found my socks were much dirtier from the dirt trail compared to any other trail shoe I have worn.
So all I would change on the MR810 is making the mesh on the toebox a little bit thicker so that it does not breathe so well. However, some people may like the great breathability. Also, I am a supinator and I wonder if New Balance has made a trail shoe designed more for a supinator? This MR810 trail shoe is as close to a supinator shoe that I have been able to find. I do not know if the MR810 if more for a neutral or supinator runner, but as a supinator, it is working great for me.
The traction is great, the outsole and traction is soft yet durable. This shoe laces up great. I just bought 5 pair before they stop making the MR810. The MR810 will be replaces by the MR811 I believe, but the newer MR811 is supposed to be very similar to the MR810. I hope so, the traction and outsole is what I most like about this cushioned trail shoe.
Good Luck Running from Trail User.

This is a great shoe. I am picky when it comes to athletic shoes since my two favorite sports are running and bodybuilding. In both cases they offer great arch and ankle support. And they're comfortable to wear just for daily use. Thumbs up all the way!

Shoes are light and compforatble right out of the box. Previously used the M809 and the heel cushioning on these shoes is much, much better.
