I've owned many (at least 10) Asics shoes in my life, starting at Gel-101, through Gel-2020, Gel-MC, and others. I was ecstatic about the quality (closer to a high-end than low-end shoe) and the great pricing (sub-$60). It has lasted about 10 months so far, in daily usage, and because of the color, they never look dirty, a new bonus (most other ASICs shoes are white and look dirty about 3 weeks into the ownership period.)
I use my asics for work, treadmill, and light running.
This shoe is the best fit, tremendous cushion and support of any shoe I have worn.
I have tried adidas, new balance, nike, puma. This is the Best!!
I bought these for my husband to work in. He's a landscape architect and spends a lot of time outside in various conditions and needed a shoe that was comfortable but durable. He likes the dark color combination (camouflages dirt) and says these feel more comfortable than most others that he's tried to work in (including Merrills). He wishes that they were as comfortable as his 2120s, but he's willing to trade a little comfort for the darker color and slightly more rugged construction.
- Use for trail running on hilly trails
- lasts for >500 miles without midsole collapse
- plenty of room in shoe for orthodics/arch supports
- not much cushioning
- good all round shoe, great value
Great lightweight trail shoe. I guess technically this shoe is a trail runner but I bought them to use as a lightweight hiker and they are perfect for that. Light as a trail runner, great traction and the sole is thicker and tougher than the usual runner. Great on rocky terrain.
