I have worn Merrill shoes for years , will NOT buy any other brand . I have flat feet, and ankle problems and these shoes are the best fit of any I've ever tried ! The Sawtooth is the best ! I wear them every single day, and always get at least 1 year out of them before they wear out or break down inside, the soles will go forever !

I don't like the heal on the boot.
the sole is to stiff, no flexibility.
the merrel monarch 2 is the ultimate shoe for me, but they stoped making that shoe, so sad and frustrated.

Numerous times I should've sprained/rolled my ankle but the boot's ankle support held up and I'm still hiking strong. Very tough soles and the traction is amazing no matter what the surface is like.
