I've worn Merrell hiking boots for almost 10 years, and they've performed well on the trail and through bad weather. This lower model really cradles your feet. These shoes are well constructed, and comfortable for everyday use.

I manage a canoe rental compnay In Florida. It is the begining of the rainy season and I need solid footwear that will keep my feet dry at the landings. So far for the first week they have performed better then my last 2 pair of merrelsl in stablity, dryness and comfort. I do not worry about stepping into the water to pull up a canoe or kayak! Climbing on trailers in the rain, is easy since the rubber on these is pretty sticky. I no longer worry about falling of the top of the trailer to my death.

I am on my feat usually 8-10 hours straight so comfort is a big factor. As usuall Merrell has delivered thanks to the Vibram sole and good factory foot bed. Plenty of padding around the ankle is also nice.

If I was going to make any changes I would offer this shoe in black. That is apersonal color preference for my work shoes sicne Black tends to show less wear. Other then that This has been the best value I have had in a shoe under $100.00

These were bought for a Grand Teton trip. Went with ease to the top of the Middle Teton and my feet stayed dry (lots of snow)! Just bought another pair because I wore mine out in two years of non stop wear.

I work in the Lawn Care industry, and I walk around 250,000sqft in a day on average. The Gore Tex works great as i am always walking in wet grass. Love this shoe and i recommend it to anyone that does the same line of work.
