These are the best athletic shoes I have ever owned. I'm on my third pair and am going to buy a 4th for a reserve pair when these wear out.
From the moment I put them on for the first time, my feet felt at home. There is no adjustment period. I love not having laces, although I carry a shoe horn with me everywhere as they are hard to get on without one.
I trail hike and trail run, street run and do elliptical and treadmill at the gym. These shoes are perfect for all my exercising endeavors as well as being comfortable to wear in non-exercise situations.
Shoes, even Merrells which are my favorites, if the shank is too stiff will make the balls of my feet numb. These shoes have a very forgiving shank.
Now if only they'd make them Gortex with NO leather, they'd be perfect.

I tell you true, these are the best, most comfortable hiking/tennis/whatever shoe I have had. I have a HIGH instep and a wide foot. These are the first slip ons I have been able to wear ever, true I test the limits of stretch, but they feel great. No pressure and I have worn them for 12+ hours straight in complete comfort. They are dry, stable and provide excellent traction... they are as close to a perfect shoe as I have found. In fact I will be ordering a second pair just in case there not available in a few years when I need another pair.

I purchased this shoe for all around wear. I did wear it all day at a ski slope while my children went skiing. My feet stayed dry and warm. The temp. was 20 - 25 degrees. It had great traction on the snow. I found it hard to put on the shoe. It does not have laces. I do think that in time, it will stretch and become easier to put them on. I also wear them while commuting in New York City. It has a very stable sole. As far as looks go, I have had other similar shoes of a different brand, and these are by far the best look. (and fit) Love them.

I travel back and forth from Qatar every 60 days and these are the absolute best travel shoes I've ever owned. They are more than comfortable enough that I can wear them for 36+ hrs straight with no problems. The easy on and off makes them perfect for wearing through airport security.
I finally found the XCR version in Navy and can honestly say these are one of my all-time favorite shoes. I've worn these all over Qatar and all over Northern UT and OH in the dead of winter with no problems at all.

I can't recommend these enough!

Very versitile light hiker that has comfort of high end sport sneakers that keep your feet dry and can be worn daily, which I do.
The shoe has looks appeal, comfort, and the Vibram soles and pattern are awsome in dry or wet surfaces.
Only throw back is the lace system that has to be tucked under the laces when cinched up.

I absolutely love these shoes! I abused these shoes for a good year and a half playing disc golf before the laces finally snapped. I have trampled through many wooded courses with rough terrain and steep inclines/declines and these shoes performed perfectly without slipping and were not cumbersome. I've also had to go into a swamp or two to retrieve a lost disc and my feet stayed perfectly dry. The only issues I have with these shoes is that in the toe has started to come up on both shoes, the laces, and in the middle of Summer these shoes can get pretty hot but I truly do abuse shoes when playing disc golf as much as I do. By the way, I called Merrell today and they are going to send me new laces so I can at least get through the Winter with these. Come next Spring I will be getting another pair of these and will most likely get the open/sandal type version for when it gets really hot (Chameleon II Web Leather).

The only downside to this shoe is that you must apply and reapply some sort of Gore-tex sealer about once a month. Besides that, Merrell's are the best shoes you can buy for anything outdoors. I work outside all day and do a lot of walking. These shoes provide the comfort and protection I need for my everyday use.

Perfect choice for me - I use them for cycling to work or short hikes. Best looking, most comfortable low cut hiking shoes I've ever owned. Was initially put off with the laceless design.....a bit of a push and twist to get the shoe on but once on it fits like a glove.

I bought these shoes after reading rave reviews of them on other sites. I was preparing to fly to Malaysia to hike up Mt. Kinabalu with my wife. But when I went to a local [...] to try them on (I know, tsk tsk), I was warned that this is the wrong shoe to wear for a hike like that as the lace-less design means that my foot would slide around in the shoe. And he was right. (I ordered them anyway because I thought they looked really cool, and I wasn't going to be hiking up mountains everyday.)So while these shoes aren't good for serious hiking, they are great everyday shoes. I use them pretty much all the time outside of work. Here, the lace-less design makes them really convenient to pop on and off. Note: if you're wearing thick cotton socks, a shoehorn helps. I switched to wearing acrylic socks to make things easier. They are plenty comfortable, although I'm thinking about buying thicker shoe inserts for uber-comfort.The biggest downside to these shoes is their durability. Recently I was in a gear shop getting fitted for a proper hiking boot, and I showed the sole of my Merrells to the employee. He told me that the sole was nearing the end of its usable life. And it's only been about 8 months since I bought them!I won't be ditching them anytime soon though. The top of the shoe is in perfect shape. When I recently washed them in the sink, the Gore-Tex held up quite well. If I only use them as everyday shoes, the thinning sole won't be a problem.

The shoe fit well and like all the Chameleons I have owned are a very supportive shoe. I last all day long and into the night with these shoes. The wrap fit, however, is too tight and restrictive. Hard to get into. At least while new it is definitely NOT a slipon type shoe.

For those going through the rough who don't want thing getting down into your shoe and what something they don't have to tie (but can if they want to) this is the shoe.
