I usually wear them on hikes of two or three day's with light pack.
They are great for this but would not work well on longer hikes.
I live in the Owens Valley, CA, part of the Mojave Desert. I got these shoes to wear as Kisse, my Golden, and I hike across the local desert on our thrice daily walks. They've worked out real well as far as keeping my feet cool. Mostly they're comfortable but I found my pair to be a half size too small. Most of the time I'm a bit loose in a 9 and I really have to struggle to get these on. After wearing them all day my feet they really begin to pinch my feet. Still, I'll probably get another pair when I wear these out.
I typically wear this as an everyday shoe and have developed a positive bias toward Merrell shoes of any design. Merrell has the best, most consistent fit of any shoe that I've ever worn. These shoes are very stable with a boot-like stability in the heel and they fit like a glove and seem like an extension of my foot. If you've never owned Merrell's, then this is a perfect shoe to display their quality, comfort, and reliability.
I bought a pair at the outset of a 10 day trip to San Francisco, where I knew I'd be walking. On my actual "way to the airport", I stopped at a trusted dealer, and told them that I was having some issues with the shoes I had. The sales person had these Merrels on, and said he recommended them without reservation! So, I bought them. They were perfect, never gave me ANY issues on the trip, and I've now bought a second pair. I didn't want the Gore-Tex version, because I wanted more breathability... I wear then all around, and stand all day for work. They are treasured!
I've worn these shoes almost everyday for over 2 years & the only reason I'm looking at new ones is that I've worn out one corner of the heel & it's letting water in. No fault of the shoe, just the way I walk. They still look great if I scrub them with a brush or spray them off at the carwash. They are tough & comfortable & I can't decide whether to buy this same style or try out the Gemini.
As with all Merrell's that I've owned I have to get a half size bigger.
For the money they'll outlast any brand I've owned.
I walk around in the hospital every day for hours and hours. I needed a shoe that would allow me to run and walk. I normally only wear Dansko open back clogs, but tried a few of my co-workers Merrells. I was very satisfied and decided to try a pair.
These Merrells allow me to walk around all day, and run to "codes" when I have to run. I don't have to worry about foot pain at night. Very, very comfortable.
I highly recommend these types of shoes for people who have jobs that require a lot of walking.

I'm extremely tough on shoes and rely on them to take a pounding during daily use in the field. These all terain Chameleon Wrap Ventilators, like all Merrell shoes I've ever worn, are extremely comfortable and durable. The high toe and heel offer excellent traction control under an assortment of terrains and varying climate conditions.
Great shoe, very comfortable. No real complaints, just a preferrence - that it was even more "ventilated"
I'm really satisfied with the quality and great looks of this shoe. I have had merrells before, just love them. Very comfortable and hold up to wear and tear.
I END UP GETTING THESE SHOES EVERY TIME, GREAT FIT, GOOD TRACTION, NICE STYLING
this shoe felt great from the first time. i wear them every day all day and i am on my feet all day. this is a very comfortable shoe and i will by more merrell shoes again.
I have had foot pain in the past, but this shoes has helped elieviate the pain in walking and standing and working
