Great shoes. Love the fit. Having them waterproof is a nice benefit but makes them a little warm. Love the grip of the soles for parkour, although they might be a little heavy comparatively, but I don't mind. Pretty good impact absorption.
What I like most about them is their grip. I've used shoes with many different soles including 5.10 with their Stealth S1 rubber soles and K-Swiss Ariake's. While the 5.10's are unmatched on rough surfaces (asphalt, brick, rough, concrete etc.) Stealth rubber doesn't stick too well to smooth stuff like chrome, painted surfaces, wood, marble, glass etc. The Ariake's grip is pretty good overall, but I find that the Merrell Chameleon's have better grip over a wider variety of surfaces than anything else I've tried so far.
Oh, and the 'Chameleon' in the Chameleon Wrap Traveler XCR's is particularly apt as they look great while running up walls and also go great with khakis and a nice shirt while headed on a night out on the town.
This shoe has stayed water resistant compared to other Merrell Gore Tex shoes. Took a few shoes to find one that would actually stay "water proof/resistant"

I deploy to the desert and Merrells have always worked best for me. I use other shoe brands too, but my main shoes are always Merrells. This Chameleon Wrap Traveler GTX XCR has no competition when it comes to durability, comfort, looks, and may be worn with jeans, cargo pants, or cotton (Dockers type) slacks. A great all-around apir of shoes almost worth every penny I paid for it.
When I first put the shoes on, I couldn't believe just how comfortable they were. I wore them through the day and can honestly say that these are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever owned. I want to purchase another pair in my size, but can't find them. I hope that they make more of these wonderful shoes. Please make more and I will buy another pair - 10 M.
I walk my dog three times a day regardless of weather and there is nothing worse than wet feet. We can walk through fields and wooods for miles and my feet stay dry and comfortable the entire trip. A great pair of shoes and I cannot wait to buy my next pair!

great support and comfort. the shoe is so versatile you do any activity wearing them.
Bought a pair of these shoes last fall, and wore them daily to work and everywhere else. Very comfortable, very water-resistant. When these wear out, I'll buy another pair. But so far there is no sign of that happening any time soon.
Took them on a trip to Normandy,France. It was rainy and cold but my Merrells kept my feet warm and dry.

This is a wonderful shoe. If you like support and feeling of your foot being cradled in a shoe, this is it. It really looks good and the color I really love. This one has the Gore-TEX which I really don't need but it make sure the shoe stays looking nice and protects against scuffs.
I would like to see this color available in the Traveler II.
Great shoe.

I'll update on their durabilty later, but I must tell you that these shoes are the most comfortable I've ever put on my feet. They felt perfect right out of the box--with no break-in period. I have actually fallen asleep wearing these shoes on 3 or 4 occasions--whereas I'd ALWAYS remember to kick off my previous shoes if I started to fall asleep. Though the leather is a bit lighter shad of brown than it appears in the pictures, it's not bad looking--though I like the pictured/darker shade better. The high sides and soles look like they mean business and seem very strong/durable. The Gore-tex XCR seems to be highly effective--after fully submersing both feet in a puddle trying to get in my car in a downpour, both shoes were dry within ten to fifteen minutes.
I would HIGHLY recommend these shoes if you want something casual enough to work in, but tough enough to hike/play in as well. I'm considering buying another pair just in case these get discontinuted! As far as fit goes, technically my feet are something like men's 9.75 EE (between 9.5 and 10, and wide); I got 9.5 in these shoes and they felt plenty big in length and width--not tight at all, but not too roomy either. Perfect.
