Only complaint is that the show did NOT stay water proof for long. I went through 2 pairs and water leaked through after a short time. I was only walking through morning dew in the grass.
Otherwise shoe is sweet!

The specific model is my athletic shoe for all my needs, at the gym, hiking trails, trail running and street jogging. The shape of the sole fuinctions to give my stride a boost forward for a delightful experience after switching with my office/dress shoes. I have bought this shoe qt least five times, getting about 15 months of continual daily wear.I am very satisfied with onlineshoes.com [...]which I find in limited availability at retail stores here in New York City.

I used to be such a fan of Merrell shoes, but ever since they were bought out by Wolverine some years back their quality of their Gore-tex lined shoes is completely abysmal!! I've tried 5 pairs of Merrell Gore-tex lined shoes over the last 1.5 years and every single one has leaked like a sieve.

Chameleon line shoes are very comfortable and last a long time, but for some reason Merrell couldn't make a Gore-tex lined version that doesn't leak if their life depended on it. If you want a waterproof shoe, definitely look elsewhere like a Vasque or something else, because Merrell doesn't have a clue how to make a Gore-tex shoe that doesn't leak through the seams.

I first bought the ventilator, but I had a lug come off the shoe in a short amount of time. I was able to exchange it easily through this website. I Chose to upgrade to the XCR, and it is a much better shoe. When the shoe gets wet it must get water down in the sole and squeeks until it drys out, could be for days. I wear them hard, and almost everyday. I have worn them for over a year and have really thrashed them. They have been soking wet, muddy, and worn that way for miles with a 40+lbs. back pack on. I have loved the shoe, but lately they have fallen apart. The tounge has come unsewn down low causing the shoelace loop to come off. The same lug that fell off my first shoe is trying to again, and the other shoe cracked across arch of my foot. I have a little reservation buying them again.
