Nice shoe but problems.
By Dana from Lone Pine, CA on 1/23/2008
Sizing:
Feels half size too small
Pros:
Comfortable, Stable
Cons:
Overall Quality
Best Uses:
Warm weather hiking
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The shoe uses velcro on the heal strap. When I loosened the velcro to loosen the strap I could not get the velcro to stick again. That happened on both shoes. Every now and again I just glue the straps in place again. Otherwise it's been a good shoe.

Shoe seems to fit true to form, just don't overtighten or you may get blisters. I really like the shoe and it seems durable but only time will tell.

The first day I wore them put a blister on my foot. This is not good considering I am a diabetic, and I have to avoid blisters on my feet, or lose them. I bought them for a sandal to protect my toes and let my feet air out during the summer. I can't wear regular sandals because they don't protect my feet. I had to put a pad over the hard area that rubs my
foot.

Merrell Chameleon is one cool shoe
By chiefmanVerified Purchaser from Kutztown, PA on 7/31/2007
Sizing:
Feels full size too big
Pros:
Attractive Design, Odor Resistant, Well ventilated and cool
Cons:
Velcro strap a bit long
Best Uses:
Casual Wear, Daily work wear, Travel
Describe Yourself:
Form follows function, Practical, Seeking comfort, Stylish
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This shoe is well-designed for the most part. It tends to run large in size so I returned them for whole a size smaller. The only criticism I have is that the rear strap which uses velcro to fasten itself is too long. Since it is secured with velcro, there is no place for the excess to go and the end of the strap overlaps and hangs loose. This will only be problematic if you plan to hike or vigorously exercise in these shoes and need them to have a very secure fit.
