A shoe my teenager can wear, without socks, and it will not start to smell. I don't know if it's in the leather treatment the shoes get, or what, but whether that was an intended design feature or not, this shoe contrasts greatly to my teenage boys' sneakers, which after a time start to greatly offend. I love going sockless, and these shoes do the job for me and for my boys.

I wore originals in high school and college some 24 years ago. I tried Timberlands for awhile, now I'm back. Soft and comfortable on first wearing. No break-in needed for these. They feel like house slippers. I'm a no socks freak who take really good care of my feet and these are great.

These shoes are EXCELLENT. I had a pair of Dexter Navigators that I kept purchasing over the past 10 years or so, but the stitching would let go every 6 months or so, where the outside of my foot pushed against it (there was a seem about mid-way up the side that went most all the way around the shoe). They were very comfortable, but I got tired of running to the shoe repair place to have them stitched.

These shoes don't have that same seam with the stitching mid-way up the side, so there should be no problem there.

They are plenty wide, even with the "medium" width. Easy on and off. They look sharp.

I won't be buying the Dexters any more!

A definite thumbs up!

Black dye on the inside of shoes, turn your feet black,
whenever moisture of any kind is encountered. This
occurs with sweat, moisture and if it rains, look out.
Never wear them to a poolside affair, one slip and
other guests assume, that you never wash below
your ankles.
