I'm a contractor. I live and work outside. I've been wearing Merrells since I first discovered them over three years ago.
The Merrell Perimeter GORE-TEX boots are great!!! NO break-in period and immediate comfort and support were the moment I put these shoes on.
They look great too and several colleagues and clients have inquired about them since I purchased them.
I absolutely recommend these boots to anyone serious about their comfort in cold and wet weather.
I still have SwitchBack hiking boots from Merrell, which I wore for 4 years. I wanted a new pair and I bought this Perimeter. It is little bit narrow on width but it worked out well after removing the cushion and replaced it with Dr Sholls 3/4 cushion. Merrell finally improved the string system and it is easy to tie. The toe bumpers are must and it is too bad they did not put heel bumpers. It is little bit heavt but I liked the full leather. It is very comfortable and durable as other Merrell's constrcution. I used them for my day hike and mountain hiking in Guatemala mission trips. I will always buy Merrell. God bless.

I needed anouther boot i could beat to heck. This one's like armour for your feet. Dirt, mud, water, sand, rock, this boot kicks its butt. Got them in spring, can't wait to use them this winter. My feet will stay nice and dry and warm. and they feel great after a 2, 5, or 10+ miler in the backwoods. They perform there best in the rugged terrain, like our 9500ft. Mt. McLoughlin. I don't where them for daily use, little to much shoe for that.
