This is a terrific shoe. It's almost as light as a running shoe but gives your foot support, protection from rocks, and traction. It isn't a high-top, so it doesn't give ankle support but this also means you don't feel like you're wearing concrete booties. I waterproofed the shoes with Nikwax and they've kept my feet dry in snow, ice, rain, and salty slush.
like the shoes, had to reorder a half size larger than normal. they are slightly narrow. seem to be very well made.
The shoes are extremely well made and comfortable.
I chose these shoes over the Patagonia 'drifter' because these were a little narrower (the drifter was REALLY wide for my foot when I tried it on). The Huckleberry is very comfortable. I wear them everyday for work and they keep my feet feeling great. I've also used them for some light hiking and they are fantastic - very supportive for a low shoe.
If you have low volume feet these are not the best shoes. It's tough to get the laces tight enough to prevent sliding of the heel. Otherwise, the sizing is correct.
