I bought these for my granddaughter who is required to wear Mary Janes or oxfords for daily uniform school dress. She LOVES them. Her mom loves them too because the patent leather makes them stylish enough to wear for dress occasions. So they provide double service for a VERY active little girl who plays hard at recess (monkey bars, swings, slides) and dresses up for special occasions. After several months of DAILY wear, the shoes still look like new! I'd buy these shoes every year for school -- and it looks like she will outgrow them before she wears them out!! Definitely five stars for this shoe!!

This shoe works as a dressy shoe for parties and for playtime when worn with jeans. My daughter (6 years) says they are very comfortable - they are not stiff anywhere and so they are better than previous black dress shoes I have purchaced. The shiny surface wipes off easily and looks elegant as it has that black pantent surface. Better yet you have great traction because of the sturdy souls constructed by Merrell, a company famous for making walking shoes. I'd like to try it in brown next year for my daughter.

I bought these shoes, for my 6 year old daughter, for a formal event. However, she also been wearing them to school. She finds them to be very comfortable and likes the patent leather look. The shoe runs true to size so keep that in mind when ordering. This is the third pair of Merrell shoes I have bought for my daughter. They are versatile, comfortable and wear very well. I highly recommend these shoes!
